I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Thinking of getting a new Tahoe...reviews please? Hey guys The hubby and I are thinking of going and getting a new Tahoe this weekend. We get a new car every 3 years and my SUV is a 2005 so it is now just about time To those of you who have one, do you like it? Is there anything that you DON'T like about it? What are the pros/cons? And........is it horrible on gas?? I don't work, so I don't have to "go" all THAT often, so gas isn't a huge issue for me - however I would like it to at least be DECENT for when we go out of town. Any comments are greatly appreciated!

| I don't know anything about the new Tahoe's but my last car was a Tahoe and I LOVED it. It was my favorite car and I've had many. We just outgrew it when my hubby retired. It was fine for just me and my daughter and grandkids...but when dh retired he wanted to go everyplace with us and there wasn't enough room so I had to get a minivan ...we call it the Mimi van (since the grandkids call me Mimi)

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Thank you I have driven several of them, but it was a few years back. I did love the way they drove and I have heard that the new ones drive just as well. I can't wait to go and look at them this weekend

| I've had three Tahoes! We usually trade in every 3 years or so - our reason is the mileage I put on it and the warranty issue. I commute two hours round trip for work so I generally put on about 30,000 miles a year. I absolutely love how it drives and have tried many SUV's. The downside for me of course is the gas prices right now. You can imagine what I have to pay for that many miles..... of course they are "highway miles" but still! My Tahoe's computer says I get 17.3 miles per gallon. I have seriously considered trading in for a car but just can not make myself give up the SUV desires. We also have an Airstream (part owner of one) that we pull occasionally and wouldn't be able to do that with a car. That and my "SUV desires" have stopped me from trading for a car (and believe me it's hard because I really like the looks of the Chrysler 300 - but really know nothing about them). I really like the new year's style and can't wait until it's time for me to trade again! Oh, and let me add that I have never had to take any of those Tahoes in for service (whoops.... let me stop and knock on some wood......) and I think that says a lot! Also, on the third row seat thing...... our last one came with the 3rd row removable seat and it's been used once. Other than that time, it's "lived" in the attic. What I'd really like is a third row seat that folds completely down into the floor. I haven't heard if the new Tahoes finally have that. I know other SUV's do. I don't like it when the 3rd row folds up to sit against the back seat.... takes up too much cargo space.

| And there's a new Hybrid Tahoe coming out early this year. I wonder how that will be?? Not sure how hybrids actually work but Chevy says they should get 21 mpg for highway. That's not much more than my 17 mpg I get now but I'm not sure how the hybrid issue works. Maybe by the time I'm ready to trade this one I have, there will more info out there about the Hybrid.

| Love my Tahoe! I drive 40 miles per workday (tollroad and feeder roads) and usually get around 20 mpg. We have put 9 people in many times because we got the 3 "split" seats, not buckets. I, too, wish the third row would fold down flush with the floor to give more cargo space. The turning/parking is awesome. Sometimes I think about getting a Suburban, but the extra 13" or so of cargo space wouldn't be needed often enough to justify trading up! Hubby drives a 3/4 ton 4-door pickup truck. I love pickups, but his is too big. It's too tall for my parking garage at work. Get a Tahoe - you'll love it!

| Hi Brooke! Tahoes are great, very roomy and great drive. However they are HUGE gas guzzlers... my bf has one and is always complaining of the cost.. good luck to you!!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi Brooke! Ooooooooooo, new cars are fun! My hubby drives a Tahoe and we just love it. It drives/feels JUST like a luxury car (to me). It is easier to drive than my smaller SUV. Very smooth, turns really well (sharp if need be), takes bumps like a car. We're getting this year's Tahoe in the next month or so - so we love it that much! It is a gas-aholic though....

| Let us know what you think! My hubby wants a Tahoe too. But I like the GMAC Acadia's too! We have another year on our Pontiac Torrent lease, and I like it, but its small for an SUV! So we want something a bit bigger! We haven't actually starting looking yet. I think the Acadia's 3rd row seats stow all the way down, but not sure. How fun! Let me know what you think!
