| I just got a Dell and I love it! I had 2 HP notebooks and I honestly HATE HP with a passion... They have the rudest and worst customer service! I loved that I could build my computer to my liking with Dell and got what I needed. I paid $1500 for this one but it has 3 yrs of accident and everything warranty (lol I forget what its called). I also have an Acer Aspire but I didn't like it either.. Which is why I ended up with this... But this is my 4th laptop in a year.. I hope its my last for awhile...

| I have a dell desktop and like it. Jim likes HP that is what his computer (desktop) is and our last computer was an HP. I need to go to dell and play around with the options.

| i also have a Dell desktop but would love to have a laptop. How do they work? do I have to pay for a wireless connection in addition to my cable modem? My cable internet is sixty dollars a month. I don't think I can afford to have a wireless whatever they are called too. As you can tell, I am not a high tech gal. Just an old fuddy duddy |

they are just like a desktop, but smaller/more compact and you can take them with you. i'm not sure about connection, because i just turn on my comp and it's connected already to the internet we have here at the house, so i'm guessing we're wireless and my parents are too.. but they are great if you don't have that much space to work with | |

Your Laptop should already have an internal wireless modem. You can purchase them at Office Depot, Walmart, Circiut City etc. I have Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router. about 60-70 bucks

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | My preference is Dell or Compaq......stay away from Acer. (Acer's are cheap, but you definately get what you pay for.....the last comment I hear from a sales person about Acer was "they are the disposable" laptop.......mine did not last a year!) My mom's work laptop is Dell and she travels alot and it has held up great. My parents' home laptop is Compaq....this is their 2nd one and each has lastest about 3 or 4 years.

| I have a Dell laptop but I'm not too sure about it it keeps shutting down randomly and freezes up , my husband has an acer laptop and it's been great! We hae had 2 hp laptops and loved them but he used them for school and then sold them so he only had them about 8 months each. We have a desktop compaq and hate the darn thing it's been messed up since day 1 we also have a hp desktop and we love it .

| I just got a MacBook about 2 months ago....it is amazing!!!! For years I heard so many great things about a Mac but never owned one. Now I can see why Mac people love them. I will never go back to a regular computer. Good luck on your new purchase.

| I love my Mac, check around and you might be able to find one less expensive. My husband called around and we got the larger memory/cache/ghz, etc. for the same price that the Mac store was selling the basic for. I don't know why but the smaller retailer had the better price. I adore my Mac and wouldn't go back to a PC but that's just me. My husband just bought our son a gaming laptop, the thing is huge! But that's what he wanted, 17" screen. I don't remember which brand it is though.
