| Vera Bradley question OK so I'm new to Vera Bradley. My mom's friend is into it and got her into it so she took me to the store last week. When I saw her friend's I honestly thought it was ugly, but I found out there are different patterns. Well, at the store I found 1 or 2 patterns that are OK, but I LOVE the shape and variety of the purses. I HATE shopping for purses because they are all either too big, too small, too many pockets, not enough, etc. Well I found 3 or 4 that are nice sizes and shapes so now I'm interested. I checked ebay and I've bid on a few (especially the dog carrier, of course) and the auctions keep ending at the regular retail price (plus shipping!) This pattern is NOT retiring. You can buy these right from the VB website. Does anyone know why these things are going that high? Am I an idiot and these are as popular as Nintendo Wii?? What's the deal? I'm tempted to just order from the website. I can get any purse I want at our local store, but they didn't have the dog carriers so I have to get that one online... Any ideas??

| I looked for a long time also....... ebay did me NO justice on Vera. I bought the stuff at a store (I got the botanical pattern). The pet carrier is great, and I also got a backpack to match for traveling.

| Is the carrier you want discontinued? Most stores are discounting discontinued/retired styles 25%. I haven't figured out the popularity of these bags yet myself and I used to work in a specialty store which carries the complete line. It amazed me how much women would pay for a quilted cotton bag. I bought the pet carrier at Sharon Luggage when it was on sale, it's really nice and easy to clean. Last edited by Stella's mom; 12-16-2007 at 05:55 PM. Reason: addition |

I've seen the dog carrier in person (in the "ugly" pattern) and it was nice, but I didn't like the color. The blue one is fine though. I agree about the cotton, it's nice and everything, but I don't do designer so the prices are kind of high. Are they made in the USA? That might make it OK. I've been told that VB is a lot cheaper than other designers. I really like the "plain" chocolate and black, but those are twice as much. Why is plain more expensive?

| The plain is more expensive because it's made out of a micro-fiber and normally they don't produce as many. They also make a silk group which is more expensive. I have the Classic Black pattern pet carrier which I see they are retiring. I don't recall them producing the pet carrier in the solid micro-fiber. |

| They don't, I want the Java Blue. I'm not sure if it's worth all this!

| I won a Vera Bradley cell phone holder. It is pretty nice. They have Vera Bradley Bingo at a local firehall too, every couple months. They give out the bags instead of money. I have never been to one though because a lot of the patterns I have seen I don't like. I don't understand why they are so high either.

| I LOOOOOOOVE Vera Bradley. My husband's aunt owns a Vera Bradley store so his mother has gotten me Vera Bradley stuff for Christmas for as long as I can remember. It's all very durable and everything can go in the washer and dryer. It's good stuff! I would personally prefer to order off the Vera Bradley website rather than Ebay. You never know when you get them off Ebay whether they are used, come from a smoke-free home, etc. etc. etc. |

| I just got the botanical pattern carrier on ebay - haven't received it yet but can't wait. I'm not sure that it's genuine though because I was able to get it so cheap. Like about $30 with shipping. I hope I'm happy with it. I bid on about 10 different ones and then finally, I just watched this one and waited to the last minute and bid and won! |
