I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | HELP! What works best for a SEVERE Cold???? I cannot take it anymore...I have the worst cold of my entire life. I get these every year, but this one is REALLY bad. I cannot breath through my nose at all, I am sooo stopped up. Can't sleep at all at night cause my throat hurts SO bad and all I do is cough, plus not being able to breath on top of it doesn't help matters My nose hurts from blowing it so much...this really isn't fun I feel so achy and don't have even the slightest bit of energy. It is taking everything out of me just to sit here on my laptop and type this I have been on the couch curled up with a blanket, dozing off all day long. I have so much drainage that when I open my mouth to talk, I almost choke And this is kinda gross but last night I was coughing so bad I had to jump out of bed and I threw up I have been taking Comtrex (it comes with both night and day pills) which usually helps, but it's not doing a darn thing this time Can anyone recommend something GOOD that will actually help this? I am going totally crazy here and can't take this anymore. Thanks in advance and P.S. - I am sorry I have not been able to respond to any PM's yet....I just feel so darn bad and this is the only thing I could force myself to type because I need to find out what medicine to tell my hubby to go get me....I have GOT to get some sleep tonight or else I am going to be a total zombie again

| Have you been to a doctor? Could you have the flu? There are medications the doctor can prescribe to reduce the length/severity if you catch it quickly enough. I'm sorry.

BANNED! | Vitamin C and Echineachea with Golden Seal works well to help the cold. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Gets lots of rest, drink fluids and tea with honey and lemon is a great sore throat helper. |

| Well, first off, I'm sorry you are feeling so poorly and hope you feel better soon. I use the puff's plus when I'm really sick so my nose doesn't get so sore and if I have to vaseline. I always take coldease when I start feeling like I'm getting something and I swear by the stuff. I hardly get a really bad cold anymore. If I'm really sick and didn't take the coldeaze in time, I use nyquil or theraflu. I'm not sure if it helps with the symptoms but it knocks me out and I'm able to get some rest. I hope it helps for you and again, hope you feel better soon! Theresa |

| Oh Brooke I am sooo very sorry you are feeling so aweful. I am sure it is viral and just takes a long time to get over with. There is an e-mail circulating about cold remedy that is supposed to work so I guess there is no harm in trying. Rub both feet generously with Vicks vaporub and then put on socks and I am told it works soooo well . . . hopefully it does |

I guess if it doesn't get better in a day or two (if I can even stand it that long) or if it gets worse, then I will have to go to the doctor and get a prescription medcine

| Awww, I'm so sorry to hear you're so sick! How long have you been like this? It may be time for a trip to the doctor. You may have a sinus infection or the beginning of pneumonia. I take sudafed to get the drainage out so I don't get a sinus infection which i'm very prone to and are so miserable to have. Do you have a fever or pain in your jaw/teeth or upper nose area? |

| I use Nyquil even during the day, because it knocks me out and lets me get some sleep. You might want to see a doctor.
