| anyone know anything about planned c-sections and going in to labor before? i am scheduled to have a c-section on the 19th of december, my due date is the 26th of december..but something that is bothering me and its too late to call the doc, is that i might go in to labor before the scheduled date. would they make me push this kid out? (sorry im not real comfortable with the idea of something so big coming out of a small opening)..lol last time i was pregnant and i had gut feeling about everything and everything turned out how i thought it would, that he would be early, there would be a c-section and that he was a boy..i had high bp the whole time and thats why we had him early. My bp is now controlled with medication that i have to stay on all the time. so now im 9 months pregnant and my gut feeling is that i will go into labor before the scheduled c-section. what happens then?..i havent had any health problems with this boy, i gained 21lbs he will be about 8lbs. im trying to plan a b-day party for my son, his b-day is the 21st of december but im scared to send out the invitations. so if i go into labor..will they still do a c-section? or will they let me push??..yikes thanks |

| Too late to call the doctors office for the day? If something is bothering you and you have that "feeling" something is wrong call your doctor. If you go into labor early I don't know if they will allow a c-section unless its life threatening or unless you've been in labor for like 20 hours.

| I'd call the office on Monday and voice your concerns. I would think if you want a csection you can still opt for it even if you go into labor.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | If your labor starts before the scheduled date they just roll you right on in as an emergency c-section. Not a big deal. You will be fine...don't worry. They tend to opt for repeat c's when you have had it before. In light of the fact that you suffer from BP issues they will be ready to roll and know that it's an case where it might just be that your early. Honestly I would pick a regular vaginal delivery (did it three times with no drugs) over a c-section. My mom had a c-section for my last sister and I can always remember how painful her recovery was...so I always opted for the natural way. Good Luck.

| I know here the UK that if you have been booked for a C-Section then you will have one if you go into labour early. I can't believe you are due so soon!

| section I do not think most pregnant women are thrilled about something so big coming out of something so small..but they have been coming of that small place since time began... I did not know you could plan a C-section unless there was a problem with the mother or baby that prevented a vaginal birthing...interesting! |

I think you should send out your sons invites though, if you do start then I'm sure someone will be happy to take over the party for an hour so you and hubby can get off to the hospital!

| because i had a emgercy c-section last time they said they would automatically do another to take this baby..i had precylampsia (sp?) with my son. my body would not corporate. i was induced 3 times, never dialted passed 2cm, and i had some back contractions (which was awful) they tried to break my water but couldnt..he just refused to come out..lol that lasted 24 hours until my blood pressure got so bad, that they went ahead and took out, hoping my bp would go down..but it only got worse... but this time everyone is as healthy as they can be |

| Why are you afraid of pushing him out? 8 lbs isn't all that big Recovery time is so much nicer for a vaginal delivery. I think that you could still have a c section if you get in there on time. I'm sure you and your doctor should discuss this so you know what his opinion is on it. I think the symptoms you are having sound like the braxton hicks contractions. Which are very normal for your phase in pregnancy. Maybe you had your 1st baby too early to have those before. Call your doc and see what he thinks. Good luck!! How exciting! |

My sister in law's first baby was like 11 pounds and she had such a hard time, sounds just about like your experience for 24 hours and then they decided to do c section. And then her last two babies she had automatic c sections as well but i think they did give the choice to go vaginal...she said hell no. | |
