| Need advice about a lost pet Hey everyone, I am not sure what to do. My 8 year old daughters cat seems to have ran away and I am not sure what to do to comfort her. I have called the local shelters and posted signs to no avail. I feel really bad for her because she loved this cat as much as I love my Bridget. I think the fireworks scared her off that out neighbors have been doing for the last week and a half... I have tried to keep everyone inside but she broke out the screen in a window just to get out. And yes she is spayed, but declawed to, I am so sick with worry, and more than the kitty, my daughters heart is breaking, any ideas on what to do. I have not lost a pet like this before.

| Cats are survivors. Most likely when the July 4th stuff calms down, your cat will show up. It's probably hiding out under your house or in a shed, just waiting to come home. Cats that have been spayed or neutered, normally won't stray from the home. They are also very resourceful in obtaining food and water. Try putting out some food and water on the porch. Unless you have a lot of stray animals in the neighborhood, its a good chance that if the food is gone, it's your cat. Good Luck and keep up posted.

| She should come home Most cats will come home when they are ready too. Apparently she was frightened off by the noise. My cat, Sake disappeared for a few days while I was moving, I left a window open in the old place, kept going back to check, and four days later, she was in the old place waiting for me. Good luck and don't give up hope, cats know where home is and how to find it. |

| I hope so..., so far it has been four days, and every night the fireworks have been going off. I dont see that changing until the 4th. I just hope she comes home. My daughter is so sad right now, i just dont know what to do. I am leaving food out, but we have several strays near us. (had a family move away and leave their cats) i jsut hope she doesnt get in to trouble before then, she is a special cat, and quite clumsy at times. I hope you all are right and she does make it home safely

| My heart goes out to you. Losing a pet has to be such a terrible and helpless feeling. I hope and pray your kitty finds her way back to you soon! Hugs to you and your daughter! |

| Marlee, I am so sorry to hear this! We too have been having these darned fireworks going for several days ... we will be praying that the kitty is just scared and is hiding! My Amanda's cat did that one time and stayed gone for a week after being frightened!! Just when we had pretty much given up, he came dragging home looking like a raggamuffin!!
