| No tree this year... kind of sad! I have a 'fake' tree for the 2nd year in a row. Mainly bc the cost of a tree has gotten outrageous and the disposal at my condos is so strict. I inherited a fake tree from my mom when she moved across the country. Its a REALLY nice fake tree, but it takes HOURS to put up since she lost the instructions years ago. So last year I had to guess my way through it. Well I LOVE putting up the tree this weekend! I love having it up for a good month and a half. I love putting it on every night and cozying up... but this year Im not putting up a tree. Im going away (to my moms) on Dec 19 and not coming back til Jan 2. I don't want to go through the HOURS of work to put up the fake tree to not even be here for the whole holidays. It does make me a little sad though cuz I REALLY enjoy the tree this time of year! Im the one who won't put it up until AFTER thanksgiving but can't WAIT to get it up! haha Anyone else traveling this year and not getting a tree because of that reason? I am still going to put out the rest of the decorations!! I could not go without ANY decorations!

| I'm leaving on the 18th and will be gone until Jan 2 as well- visiting Disney World, VA and central PA. BUT- I'm still going all out! I'm putting up TWO trees and some other things. Maybe you could buy a new fake tree? Trees today are so easy to put up since they are normally only a few pieces.

| We bought an artificial tree last year that has the light already attached to it..its so simple to put up. I would still put mine up even if I wasnt going to be home just because its tradition...but I can understand why you wouldnt if its such a difficult tree to put up.. Dawn |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | How about a smaller (4 foot/tabletop) tree? That wouldn't take HOURS to put up and at least you'd have it to enjoy until you leave for the rest of the holiday season. That's what I would do.

| Yeah I thought about it... but with the cost of the trip I really cannot afford to buy anything like that this year. Its ok though.. I think Im going to string lights up inside the house and then I can put them on and with the other decorations I put out it will still look festive, it just won't be the tree though!

| With Minnie's vet bill , I can't afford to buy a natural tree . I'll place my artificial tree and add other decoration in it . I am not even sure if I'll be able to visit someone for the holidays . I am not sad because I am planning a christmas evening with my little ones . |

| Last year I started something new cause my boys were older and this year they don't live at home anymore. I have always had a HUGE live tree..... I LOVE them. But... last year I got a small balsam fir at a store... it was about 10" tall. I put tiny decorations on it. I put it outside during the summer and it did great - I still have it. This year I knew I couldn't have a tree cause of the dogs but I wanted something a little bigger so I got another balsam fir but this one is about 2-1/2 to 3 feet tall with red bows on it. It was only $11.88. It is really pretty and I can keep it where the dogs can't destroy it. I put the tiny ornaments on it and that is what I'm using this year.... Not exactly what I want, but it's cute and it's still a live tree! |

| I've never had a real tree - always a fake one. I wasn't going to be my tree up this year because I'm going to be at my parents from like December 8 through the first week in January, but I decided to go ahead an put it up last weekend. At least I'll get to enjoy a couple weeks of it. I'm at my parents now for Thanksgiving and I think my mom wants to put her tree up tomorrow. Hers takes a long time to put up too
