| Laser Tattoo removal- ouch! SESSION 1 Hey Guys- If you read my previous thread I was asking about tattoo removal... well my consultation was today nad I also had my first laser session. I know some of you had asked for an update and information about the procedure sooooooo here you go! I have two tattoos that I got this past summer that meant a GREAT DEAL to me... at the time. I got a dove on my hip because my entire family had been shaken by my mothers abusive boyfriend. My 20 year old brother was kicked out of the house (by the BOYFRIEND) and threatened MANY times. My youngest brother (12) had began going to therapy because of his thoughts of suicide. And my mother turned her back on me on many occasions and I too did not have a place to stay during my summer break from UCDavis. My other tattoo I got with my bestfriend of going on 19 years. That's saying a lot since I'm only 21! We both got "Cairde go deo" which is Irish Gaelic for "Forever Friends". During this whole summer she became my family. I lived in MA with her for two months. On top of all that my BF of 5 years had broken up with me. AHhHhHh So I guess I rebelled?!?!?! A little toooo much!! *WHEW* Okay no more pity parties for EVER So, BACK TO THE ACTUAL LASER PROCESS: IT HURT! And o nce she had done one (and I knew what I was getting myself into) I didn't want her to do the other. haha But seriously--- It makes you cringe but no tears! I didn't have any numbing cream and it was a VERYFAST procedure! So... Now I'll play the waiting game and see how these suckers fade. I know it'll take several sessions and I'm not gettin gmy hopes up... but it wasn't as expensive as I had previously thought. It was $150 for both tattoos for each session. I made the decision to forgo a laptop in favor of feeling better about myself and getting these removed in time for my college graduation ceremony (or at least faded enough to cover) Alrighty! Thanks for listening to the update!

| I really hope the situation with your Mother works out and she got rid of the nasty boyfriend. I too thought about getting tattoo laser removal, but having that done is probably more painfull than getting the actual tattoo. So I figured I will add on to the tattoo later on.

| It certainly does hurt, and to me it smells like burning skin. Good luck with your treatments.

| thanks for the support everyone! I've been changing the bandages regularly and I see a little difference. It takes two months for a session to get all the ink out that it can at that time... then you go in for another session. <3

| I'm so glad you did a follow up for us! I'm going to a consult in jan to see about having the 2 on my ankles removed. I just hate that they are in such an obvious place. I don't like how I'm judged when people notice them, so bye bye. I have one other that I'm going to keep. I figure if you say no tears than I can probably deal with it, so again, thank you for the update! Good luck with your next session, hopefully you wont even need it! |
