| I get so attached!!! To every dog I groom, but today I groomed a Maltese and now I want one. I overheard hubby talk about suprising me with another Yorkie, and I would love one, but I'm wondering about getting a Maltese. I've had such great luck with Yorkies and I'm so afraid to get a different breed. I'm not as educated on Maltese as I am Yorkies, could someone please give me some more information on the breed? I don't want to just go out and buy one, I want to know health risks and what not. Even though my parents had a Yorkie while I lived at home, I still studied up on them before I purchased Tilly. Are there any good books or sites I could look up? Thanks!!

| I am getting one Saturday! I had a little boy maltese for about 6 years. He was very sweet and laid back. His personality was really like Tiffanys... I remember having to brush him a lot more though. Good luck!

| A friend of mine has a Maltese, and my ex boyfriend had one too. They are sooo cute! I've read that Maltese are calm, lap babies and somewhat the opposite of Yorkies personality wise. I was surprised to hear this, as my friend's Maltese is one of the most hyper dogs I've even seen! She can never sit still, and doesn't like to be held for more than 30 seconds. My Mocha on the other hand, is very calm and laid back. He loves to be held and cuddled, he is a true lap dog. I don't remember too much about my ex's Maltese, as I dated him a long time ago. What I do remember though, is that was always full of energy. And she would only like to cuddle depending on her mood. There's a MalteseTalk forum you could always check out too. Good luck |
