| Should I report it? There is this man who lives across the street from me, he has a mixed looking toy dog, cant tell the breed as it looks ratty and dirty. Anyhow, I seen him slap the dog on the dogs face and also hit it with what seems to be slippers or shoes, then he ties the dog upside down by its legs, or hangs the dog from its harness or colar on what seems to be a hat hook against the wall. Now I dont see detail to be able to take a diggi pic, as he has shear cutains. I used a binocular and was able to see a bit better, but that is invasion of privacy. Anyhow, I have seen him also put the dog in a bucket and toss it up and down and then fill the bucket with water with the dog in it, this I seen outside, but he said he was bathing the dog. the bucket is that of a small one that you mop a floor with. I asked him why he hung the dog and he said to blow dry the dog because the dog wont sit still, and hanging him that way is the best to get him to keep still . I asked why he held the dog by its hind legs and upside down, he said it was choking . Am I to believe him or just report what I have seen? I dont want to make a fool of myself. | Now my dog was choking and we had to do a similar thing some months ago but certainly not tie the dog leg, we did the heimlich maneuver to save his life, but this what I saw looked like when you are getting ready to string up a carcus or freshly slaughtered animal |

| Agreed. I'm sorry but I would think that would be the obvious thing to do.

| well you need to at least attempt to get them out there. if you call and they don't respond, at least you know you tried. who cares if they think you sit and look for it all day. at least someone is looking out for the defenseless animals!!

| Don't report it to the police, report it to someone more appropiate like animal control. Or call the police and ask them who you report it too. I know there's a better option than the police though, they just don't take animal abuse as seriously as they should, you need to find compassionate animal lovers with shields on their pockets. |

| I would report that immediately! I have reported people on more than one occasion and would run not walk to the nearest phone to report when an animal is being abused. Please do it right now. Some area do not have a good animal recue ie...ASPCA or such in place in which case you may need to call the police. PLease let us know today what happened with this.

| Ok, cops were just here, the man was also speaking to them. He told them the same thing he told me, Police said unless they see signs of the dog being abused they cant do anything. Normally it is the police who removes dogs from abusers. Now the man knows it is me who called them on him. he is a real A you know what |

| He sounds crazy and it seems like he doesn't even want to own a dog. I don't understand why anyone has a dog if they treat it like that. I don't know what you can do now though since he's "on to you". I feel so bad for that pup.
