Donating YT Addict | Maine Breeders Hi All. I'm a new member in Southern Maine (Saco) and am looking for my first Yorkie puppy. I'm hoping to be able to get my new little one in the early spring so I'm looking for a litter where the female is being bred around this time. (can't imagine trying to housetrain a tiny one in the middle of the Maine winter!) Does anyone have a breeder that they are happy with? I feel like an expectant mother!!! Thanks for your advice. |

| Welcome to YT. I sure hope you do find your baby by spring. You may even think about getting two instead of one because if you get just one, your going to be so hooked and just have to have another. Not to mention how much company they are for each other. It's amazing! |

Donating YT Addict | I would love 2. I had said to my husband we should get a his and her's but he wasn't buying it! He may change his mind. He was the one who suggested a Yorkie after meeting a friends little guy so I'm slightly optimistic! |

| Hello, 1st welcome to YT You should find some very good breeders here on YT. Just avoid the pet stores. Make sure you ask a lot of questions. The people on here are very helpful and don't tend to jump down a person's throat (unlike many other boards I visit). We're breeders and we have five (at this point) Yorkies - not to mention the other animals in the house. I love the babies and can't imagine life without them As for the husband, trust me, he'll want another once you get one. When my wife brought home the 1st Yorkie (Samantha) I wan't sure I was so thrilled (given to her as a gift from our co-breeder and mentor) after all I always wanted to have the "manly" dog (we have a 120 lb Doberman and a Jack Russell). BUT, we kept Adalaid Lane from Sam's 1st litter and Addy is my baby. She sleeps on my head, is ALWAYS on my lap or chest and is absolutely my baby. I can't (won't) even think about something happening to her. People laugh at me because how I treat her and how she gets her way. I don't care, I wouldn't give her up for the world. For that matter, I wouldn't give up any of our babies for the world (we have had offers of $10k for Brydei from a couple that bought one of our babies - which we declined because Brydei was not for sale). Donating YT Addict | Thanks for the info! I have been working with a breeder that seems really wonderful here and have spoken to a few people who have gotten pups from her and are very happy. She has a particular blue female that I adore and she is due in Dec but there is a person ahead of us who wants a female from that litter and I'm sooooo worried we won't get a pup. We'll know in a few weeks when they x-ray how many pups so we're keeping our fingers crossed for at least 2 little girls. It's so aweful the waiting. We're going to visit the breeder in a few weeks as another of her dogs had a litter a few weeks ago so we'll get to see how they are raised etc. We had discussed going with a male if there are not enough females. Do you see a big difference in personalities in the sexes? |

| Personalities between the sexes I dont find alot of differences between the girls and boys. My boys are alittle more cuddly than the girls, but maybe they just love their mama. My girls are alittle more independent. I love them all--what am i saying?? Jackie |
