| Looking for first Yorkie Hello! I am on the search for my first Yorkie. I have had dogs all my life and currently have an 11 year old Boxer who LOVES his little dog buddies! I am located in central Mass and am able to travel to get a healthy pup, but would like to stay fairly local. I have already read more than enough to know I will NOT be going to Sutton for my pup. I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with Hi Hopes in Southbridge? The only real information I have at this time is that she charges $2000 for pets. I will be looking into Jubilee as well as Clover Hill. Any other suggestions as I start my journey would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

| We talked to a bunch of area breeders when we were looking for our third Yorkie. I bought Teddy from Shenanigans in Billerica. I am very happy with my dog - he is so cute and so sweet. I would buy from her again without hesitation. Feel free to PM me if you want any more info!

| Looking for a Yorkie I am also looking for a local reputable breeder but would not want to pay 2000 for a dog I think that type of money could be better spent for vet bills, toys and so forth . So does anyone know a reputable breeder that has practical costs. |

The first person that comes to mind is Rose Jenks/Foxfire Yorkshire Terriers, in CT.

| Also came across Taylor Made in Maine while going through YTCA site. Got a very good feeling from talking with this woman. Anybody have any experience with her? |

| Taylor Made is good-- That's Holly Gilbert-Cleary and she's a very good breeder and dedicated exhibitor.

| Your priority is vet bills? WOW, it's been busy on here in the last couple of weeks. Are you saying you want a cheap Yorkshire Terrier so you can have money available for vet bills? Scary.

| Yep, Holly has a great reputation. You'll love her when if you get to meet with her. I've never seen photos of her yorkies online before. Let her educate you on the benefits of getting a puppy from a quality breeder. |

| Here's another link for more info on breeders in that area. www.yorkies.com Take your time. Ask many questions. Look at the contract. Feel free question the contract, bring back any questions to share them. This is a very big commitment you are making. The right breeder will respect you for taking your time. You should look for a quality well bred healthy puppy. There are many people breeding dogs. Few quality ones. Good luck. |
