| new to yt hello, im new to yorkie talk but ive read almost every post. i have 2 puppy yorkies. theirnames are sampson and makya. my female is 11 months old hasnt gone into heat yeti havent seen any trace of her going into heat. sampson my male is always interested in her. i want to catch her first heat. i dont want her pregnant to young. should i have her checked by a vet or just wait it out? ive heard of silent heats, some going into there first at almost 2 yrs. of age. i just dont know when it becomes a health concern. thanks for listening! |

| Welcome to YT. It is a wonderful community here. Every female is different in their heat cycles. If Makya gets past a year old when you notice she comes into heat, lets say like 14 to 15 months old, have her check by your vet to make sure she is in good top condition and it should be okay to breed her. Never, Never under a year, they are still puppies and growing.... Hope this helps you get a better idea.

| actually that helps alot it gives me a good guide line of when its okay to breed and i also like the idea that to have her checked by a vet if we get a heat that late.just figured out to get the pics up next to my name. other then the heat issue she has been perfectly health with no signs of genetic defects. hoping it will stay this way. thanks agian |
