| new to yorkie talk comic sans MSred Just wanted to say hello to everyone and I am very glad to have found this site. I know it will be fun and educational. My yorkies name is "LOLA" and we are very happy together. I am going to post a picture as soon as I can. My maltese had passed away in March and I was greiving so much and was so lonely. I adopted her from a yorkie rescue and cannot be anymore happy than I am now. She is 5 years old and is so sweet. I have a question and hope someone could help us. She chews her feet and I took her to the vet and she gave me a lotion but it is not working so well. Maybe someone has the answer. Thank you |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Hi, Lola's Mom1, and welcome to YT. Sounds like your Yorkie hit the jackpot in finding you. I know you're going to be incredibly happy with your Yorkie. Eddie never chewed his feet, so I can't help you out. But there are sooo many members her, and I'm always amazed at how one member or another has experienced everything and can offer advice. Good luck, and I can't wait to see your pictures.

YT Addict | Welcome to YT!! I can't wait to see pictures of your new baby. Generally, when a dog chews their feet it is a sign of allergies...

| Welcome to YT! Congratulations on your Lola .... I'm sure she is also happy that you found her! My husband is constantly saying how much Toto has added to our lives ... she is our joy!! We have noticed a few times, Toto chewing at her paws for no apparant reason. We always check for the obvious ... something on there that she is trying to get off, nails needing to be clipped, etc. If there is no visible reason for the chewing, we offer her something more appropriate to chew or I just snuggle her on my lap and give her a paw massage for each little foot!! She loves having her paws rubbed .... I have to believe that she occasionally chews on them because she is stressed! If Lola's chewing is constant and nothing is visible, I would check with the vet to make sure there is nothing physically wrong! Good luck!

| Hi and welcome! Cannot wait to see pics of your little rescue baby! One of my yorkies, Bitsy, also chews on her feet sometimes. I also think it's nerves or allergies but she doesn't chew them bad or make them raw or anything so when I see her do it I just distract her and she quits. If it's to the point that she is chewing them raw I would definitely take her to the vet. Sometimes certain foods can cause allergies and various other things.

| Welcome to YT! My Sophie was scratching under her chin and licking at her feet. We took her to the vet and he gave her an allergy shot. The itching and licking stopped after a couple of days. She had to have a shot almost every month during the spring and summer. The vet said he thought it was seasonal and when the weather cooled down it should stop. The weather has just now started to cool down so we will see but the shot really worked. Good luck! Can't wait to see pics of your baby. |
