| Stay away from seashore kennels!!! Hello! I wanted to take a minute and warn people to stay away from a breeder in Mashpee, MA. While she may seem nice and cooperative, it's all an act. Please read the article at the link below: CapeCodTimes.com - Kennel ordered to obey new rules Back in April this year, I was supposed to pick up a puppy from Seashore Kennels. I know based on dates and timing that it was the sister of the little puppy, Gigi, that Kim Daly bought (see article about this puppy). I had been at the breeder's house on the 21st of April to see my puppy. Three days earlier (April 18th), the sister of my puppy had been picked up. Since I was in college and would not be able to take care of my puppy just yet, Charlene was holding onto it until mid-May. One week later, I called Charlene to see how my puppy was doing. She told me that the puppy was sick and "missing her sister". The next day, Charlene called me and told me the puppy had died. She puppy was 9 weeks old at tht point. She assured me this type of thing had never happened before and told me she did not have an autopsy done because she did not feel it was necessary. Charlene let me pick a new puppy from another litter she had. So far there have been no problems. However, I will be have blood tests run son to make sure there are no underlying problems that have not surfaced yet. A couple months later, my boyfriend told me that a friend of his had gotten puppies from Charlene. One of the puppies had died about a month after the friend had brought it home. Just wanted to make sure no one would have to go through this. Thanks for reading! |

| Similar Experience Thank you for posting this. I purchased my baby from Charlene and it has been a nightmare. I love my baby but never imagined my first foray into being a mommy would cost $10,000 in medical bills in 4 months time. My poor baby has been through so much. He has 2 congenital diseases and a lifetime of medicine ahead of him. I contacted the media and the I-Team sent an investigative reporter out to watch and observe Charlene. She has relocated to Rhode Island and supposedly is OUT of the breeding business although the news reporter saw that one of her dogs was pregnant. Charlene didn't have any other dogs at the Rhode Island home BUT no one believes she is done breeding and selling sick dogs. Please beware of Charlene Pelley in Rhode Island selling sick dogs.

| Thanks for posting!! Charlene most definitely is not out of the breeding business. She has an ad posted on puppydogweb(dot)com and she sent me an email saying she had a little male pup available. I thought it was a bit strange that she signed her email 'Lynn' yet her email address has the name Charlene Pelley next to it. I'm so glad I saw this before purchasing a pup! |

| following up First, Zippy123, I am so sorry to hear about your puppy. It was heartbreaking when I lost my first puppy from Charlene, so I know a similar feeling. Do you know who the mother of your pup was? Cause my girl is 7 months old right now too. Second, I have noticed that Charlene is going by the name Lynn now. Her name brings up too much media and negativity in Google searches. She is probably using a different name now to avoid losing business. So stay away from Charlene or Lynn Pelley in either Mashpee or newly located to Rhode Island. |

| sneaky sneaky "Darling small Yorkies with babydoll faces. My pups are raised in my home and are current on their shots. They come with a health certificate and care package. Phone calls are preferred. Phone: 508-280-6591 Email: lynnp1260@yahoo.com. Club Affiliations and Registries: AKC" This is Charlene!!!!!! I googled the phone number. Couple things, there is no health certificate, they are not AKC registered (I still dont have registration papers from Charlene and dont expect to ever receive them. She told me she was busy and hadnt registered them when I called her a month after bringing my puppy home - which she had told me the papers were already on the way at that point). |

| Wow, close call. I am realy saddened to hear she is selling. I knew she would be but I had a small hope that she would do the right thing. Would you be able to forward me the email she sent you? How long ago did she send it to you? I have notified the I-Team that she is back up and running and they will hopefully do a story on her. My poor baby has to wear a muzzle every day because if he were to ingest something other than his special diet he will risk flaring up his disease and it's drugs and lots of sick days from there. My poor baby. He is just the cutest thing but he has been so sick for so long and this will be his life. Thank you for sharing this information. Hopefully she will be stopped.

| Hi and thank you. I am sorry for you too. It is so tragic to watch these defenseless little furbabies suffer so much. My puppy is 7 months old and his Mom was Nelly - allegedly. I don't believe a word that woman says but I do see a wee bit of a resemblance to Nelly when I look at my adorable angel. Was Nelly the mom of your little girl?

| so frustrated I am hating her more and more. Yes, my girl's mom was Nelly but so far so good (knock on wood). what is the birthdate she gave you? and I dont have an email from her. I just came across the ad online. So she is back up and running. She told my mom and I once before that there was a room she could keep her yorkies in in Rhode Island where no one would know. She had originally told us that the only reason she was under investigation about her dogs was because she had too many dogs and the town had passed new legislation. |

| WOW - this is great information. So she admitted she keeps her dogs locked up in a room. No wonder the I-Team couldn't find her dogs. I can't use the language on this site to describe my feelings and thoughts for her. I am so happy to hear that what I assume is Wilburs sibling is a happy and healthy pup who is being well cared for. She told me Wilbur was born on April 9, 2008. Does this match your babies birthday? What is her name? She does have a gross home in Rhode Island, I think it is in Warwick. Which she has owned for a long time. She was telling a partial truth about the investigation. The towns by-laws changed and she did have too many dogs BUT the only reason they found out that she had too many dogs is because two of the puppies she sold to two different people passed away - one within 24 hours and the other within 2 weeks. I hate her. I can not say it enough. May I ask why you were in touch with her after you bought your dog from her? Did something happen? Was it around the time of the town meeting in August?

| The birthdate does match my puppy's birthdate. Her name is Mocha. She has so much personality. I love her. I dont know what I would do if anything happened to her. I only talked to Charlene after I brought Mocha home to find out about the papers. And the last I had talked to her was sometime in early July to bug her about papers. After that, I found all the info I needed about her online. I cant explain how furious I was to find out how much she had lied and that my first little puppy's sister died shortly after my puppy died. I feel so stupid looking back but I had wanted this yorkie for over 5 years and I was finally getting my baby. Again, luckily Mocha seems to be fine. She is going to have bloodwork and additional tests when she is spayed to make sure there are no hidden illnesses. And I really cant tell you enough how sorry I am about Wilbur. It's just terrible! Like you said, words cant describe how much I hate and despise Charlene. |

| OK, so, I just did a google search a few minutes ago under two phone numbers. 508-280-6591 (Mashpee, MA home phone) 774-238-6742 (cell phone) These two numbers came up with multiple puppy listings posted Dec 3rd or 8th 2008 (especially the cell number). Additionally, these listing were from all over. Some listings said the puppies were located in Worcester, others said Mashpee, and still others said Rhode Island. Charlene is also going under the name "Lynn" at lynn1260@yahoo.com. Please dont be fooled. She is going above and beyond to be sneaky and continue selling her sick dogs. She advertises yorkies, maltese, and morkies (a yorkie-maltese mix). She may also have other dogs listed, these were the only ones I found currently. |

| HI There, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I have been away for most of the holidays and am just getting caught up now. How is Mocha? We have adopted a sibling for Wilbur. I am so excited. She is a Yorkie and we pick her up this weekend. She weighs a little bit over 2 lbs and Wilbur and she got along beautifully! Yippee!!! Thank you so much for keeping an eye out on Seashore Kennels. I was following her activity until around Thanksgiving. I was convinced she was quiet and then as soon as I turn my back she jumps out. I have contacted the I-Team and the Board of Health in RI. She is a sicko! WHY can't she just be ethical!? These poor dogs. Thank you again for letting me know. I hope Mocha is well and enjoying the first winter!

| Happy New Year to you too!! I am so excited for you for getting a sibling for Wilbur! They will have so much fun! Mocha is doing great. Running all over and thinking she is a snow-dog. haha. silly pup. Keep me posted on any updates with the I-Team and board of health. A friend also mentioned that it might be worth it to get the MSPCA involved. So, I am considering that as well. |
