| What is this "coughing??" Gemma usually only does this at night when we go to bed, but every night! And it goes on several times, sometimes she needs water afterward. The first video doesn't let you hear the sound she makes at the end, but the second one does. It sounds like she has a fur ball!! But nothing ever comes up either? She also appears to have allergies because she sneezes a lot - could these be related? What does it sound like to you? I hope its not bad? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lO69aViKVz4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxZz_0hqt6g

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i don't htink its anything too serious. some times morgan does that too. i think its because she gets alittle dust or pollen in her throat and that's just their way of trying to clear it. it doesn't sound like a reverse sneeze or a collapased trach

| Well I could live with that if thats all it is!! It just concerns me because it happens every night after she is fast asleep...it wakes her up and she has to stand up and hack it out, like you see here. It goes on a good 15 minutes sometimes Happy that you don't think it has anything to do with her trachea!

| I am sorry that little Gemma is having these coughing spells. I would watch her closely and take her to the vet if she has any other symptoms. Give that sweet baby a hug |

| I don't think Gemma's coughing is anything serious. Both of my Yorkies do it! My vet demonstrated the noise I was describing to him, and I said "That's it!" He said his Yorkie does it, too. He says they are just clearing their sinuses and it's nothing to worry about. Lorna |

| Bubbles has always done that. I think it's just clearing her throat.

| Connor did it too. I finally got to thinking that the ceiling fan might be to much for him, so we bought an soft-sided enclosed cat bed to put on our bed and he loved it! He also quit coughing not long after that, I guess because the wind from the fan was not hitting him....

| No, she started doing it right after she had her little episode and they hospitalized her But she DOES sneeze alot so maybe it is alergies...I plan on taking the video to show the vet as well though because it does concern me that she does it every night after she falls asleep! Maybe she's alergic to my laundry detergent/softeners?
