Is this your puppy ? if yes then you need a proper fitting harness to start with. Secondly, pulling on the dog to get it to walk is not the proper way to leash train a dog.

Really ! what kind of post is this ? I was simply trying to give you some helpful information & as far as your tug comment---- you NEVER tug on a dog when leash training, no matter how hard or soft it is. If you don't want comments on your thread then maybe you just should not post a thread.

You posted a problem & nothing else, so were supposed to be mind readers ? Maybe next time your title should read " Just sharing " Are you for real ? To spazz out over my post is just insane & maybe you are the one who needs to have a seat & RELAX. I hope IF you ever post on YT & really do need help or advise anyone will be willing to help you after they see your very BAD attitude over my simply trying to give you some helpful info. By the way, this community is always here to help & share info with others as that's what we do here so IF you don't like it then feel free to go elsewhere. I'm done wasting time on the likes of you, so please feel free to continue to post your snarky remarks as I'm sure you will & show others here your true colors.

I understand that you were trying to be cutesie with the video. Unfortunately you failed miserably. Nothing funny about dragging a pup across a floor wearing an ill fitting harness. It ranks right up there with pics of yorkies in teacups. You are a newbie at YT and perhaps you don't understand the mindset of the majority of members here. We take our yorkies very seriously and your video sent "bad owner/abuse" red flags to many of us. My immediate reaction was the anger I feel when I see parents dragging their kids by an arm through the grocery store. Yes, you didn't ask for advice or opinions, but this is an open forum where you will get plenty of both. So, please stay and put on your big girl panties and be prepared for lots of opinions -- the good (what you want to hear), the bad (what you don't want to hear) and the ugly (that which is uncalled for).

When I first got my yorkie and was trying to teach him to walk, I thought it was okay to drag him to teach him it was okay to be walked on a leash but found when I got home that his pads had been scratched by the tugging because they had bled all over the carpet. I felt awful and never tried to 'teach' him in this way again. So, I guess members here are painfully aware of the issues we bring on our dogs when we attempt to walk them without the proper techniques and equipment. As such, they like to ensure that people who post videos like these on this site are aware and are not sending a message to others that potentially harmful acts done out of ignorance or cruelty are acceptable. However, the puppy in this video seems well cared for and didn't appear to be in any distress so I do get the humor especially since the puppy also looked at you like, "Duh," when the harness slipped off. We're all on the same team, I'm sure!

Dude! I was in hysterics when my daughter was attacked by two bigger long haired Chihuahuas while walking my little gal, and that was a properly fitted harness. Yanking her up had me hightailing it to the vet, despite being called paranoid. Do you have any idea how fragile their ribs are and the trachea is? How do YOU know it wasn't a hard tug? Were you UNDER the harness???? Womp it up, yo. I certainly hope you're a better owner than the video portrayed, and I'm not usually this riled up. If you weren't doing anything wrong, methinks thou does protest too much.

| I actually didn't see anything to harsh, heck I roughhouse with Duchess all the time and I can tell you it would look like I am hurting Duchess but I am not. She loves it and instigates it every time. When she is ready to play, she will run up to me, start barking with her butt in the air, then we play a game of tag.......then the rough housing starts. To me it just looks like a little tug, nothing abusive. I didn't see her dragging her yorkie.......just a little tug. In fact I thought it was hilarious because I went through the exact same thing when I was trying to trained my rescue how to walk on leash. I don't think a gentle tug should be considered abusive. It was hilarious......by the way your little one is adorable and my rescue baby did the same exact thing. I bought like 3 harnesses trying to find the perfect one. | It may or may not been a hard tug and she may thought it was funny but what I am see is very rude comments to established member who started off give friendly advise.
