| Does your Yorkie do this? Don't be alarmed: Reverse Sneezing (Pharyngeal Gag Reflex) - VeterinaryPartner.com - a VIN company! I thought I'd post a vid of Momo reverse sneezing. I know some folks are bewildered & wondering why their baby is makin such strange sounds...I sure did. When this happens, I cover his nose or rub his throat gently so he'll swallow & he'll stop. He also stops on his own, but if I'm there, I want to help him. It can be caused by hair, lint, dust tickling the throat too. He also does this when eating & drinking sometimes. A collapsed trachea is different whereas rubbing the throat will cause the attack/honking sound.

YT Addict | Aww. Your babies are SO CUTE. I'm sorry about the reverse sneezing. But I absolutely ADORE how you have the hair on your babies. I wish I could get mine to look that gorgeous. She just kind of all over the place right now with the hair. I have to get her trimmed up. I thought mine had some condition such as this with the reverse sneezing, but we are starting to think she just doesn't chew her food enough she more inhales it. But she doesn't eat fast or a large amount.

| Thank You for the compliments on my babies. Does she primarily make sounds after she eats? How long does it last? Princess & Turbo devour their food. They make sounds like they're gagging, it only lasts couple of seconds. I bought a slow feeder for them, but they won't go near it. So I put a little condiment cup in the middle of their bowl to slow them down. It helps some, but they eat like they're in a race. Oh yeah, they don't chew most of their kibble either.

Do you do your babies hair or do you have a groomer do it? I'm soo obsessing. I keep watching the video over and over to get good looks at their hair. LOL

Hehee, I'm a groomer, so I do their hair. Kinda like having a mom for a hair stylist. Mimi's hair is all messed up in the vid. She got into some gum, so I had to chop off part of her bangs. Thank You! Not to alarm you, but the honking/goose sound you're describing sounds more like collapsed or collapsing trachea. Have you taken Missy to the vet for a check up? They usu rub their throat & if it triggers the honking/goose like sounds, then it's more likely to be CT. It's also triggered by exercise & after running...but then again, reverse sneezing kinda sounds like that too.

| I agree. Jenny, all of your babies are adorable. Hey Lolli_lah, if you want to see more of her cuties, she has a whole channel of you-tube vids.. Not that I've watched them all or anything.

| Maggie has done this pretty much the whole time she's been with us. She's gets soooo excited and starts doing this. The vet tech told us to hold her nose and push her head down. This opens the air ways of their throat and the noise will stop immediately. This helps tremendously!

| Your welcome. I just put my finger on the bridge of her nose and push her nose towards her chest. It stops instaneously! Good luck.

YT Addict | Aww I think it's Mimi that has the exact same color hair as my girl. Shes blonde/blue (altho I don't know why they call them 'blue' when its grey). I want to learn to do their hair. I'm just going to start practicing on my own, I mean she can't turn out any worse than what she looks like now. Haha. Do you have any suggestions what I could do to her body hair? It's not thick and gorgeous like your mimis, though it is the same color and looks same texture. But her hair is thinning on her back and Im not sure if a longer look would make it look bad or not. I think it looks 'raggy' as shorter on her back as it is now, though..

| My Zada does the "honking" noise when she's excited and if she does it too long, she then wheezes, sounding like someone with asthma. She had a really bad bout of wheezing after a lot of honking, that lasted all night so I took her to the Vet. She took x-ray of her chest and found some inflammation and put her on clavamox. She goes back tomorrow for an x-ray on her throat. We aren't sure what's causing all this yet, but it's scary.

I think coat their health & diet has alot to do w/the condition of the coat. What are you feeding Lolli? She's adopted, right? I don't know too much about her past, but that can have alot to do w/the condition of her coat now (maybe?). With the proper food that contains Omegas 3 & 6, & the daily allowance of vitamins & minerals, the hair will greatly improve. Quote:
