| Mt Diamond is sick My Diamond has mucus in her stools and is not eating, playing or engaging. She sits and stares at me instead of running and walking by me where ever I go. She is not acting like herself at all. My daughter said Diamond vomitted today, once, and it was clear with traces of green in it. Does anyone know what could be wrong with my Diamond? Has anyone else experienced anything similar with their yorkie. Oh yeah also she's only 5 1/2 months. :-( |

| Goodness. How long has this been going on? Have you noticed any other symptoms? Is there any blood in her stool? The first thing I would think is that she has a cold and since she's unable to blow her nose, if it runs from her nose to her mouth all she can do is swallow it and she digests it. Stomach fluids are green. If she hasn't been eating and something is wrong with her digestive system then she's vomiting the only thing in her stomach. Keep us posted on how she's doing

| Thank you for your response Leigh22. Diamond's symptoms have just appeared today. She is breathing through her nose but it's as if she panting with her mouth closed. When I put her on the floor she stands in a hunched position then sits down. She remains seated regardless to me calling her name. When I do call she just looks at me. Usually she licks and follows my every move. I am getting none of that. Took her to her Vet he said she has a stomach ache from something she ate be it food or an object. He gave her pain medication said to monitor her then if not improving take her in for tests and x-rays. |

| Thank goodness you took her to a vet already. Panting with her mouth closed? Like a huffing? Or does it sound like more of a wheezing/snorting through her nose? 5 1/2 months? Do you think it could be related to her going into heat relatively soon? Its a little early but not unheard of. Vomiting and abdominal would mean there was something wrong with her cycle though. If it just happened today I wouldn't freak out too much. Just keep an eye on her and please keep us posted on how she's doing.

| Thank you and everyone for being concerned and helpful. This morning Diamond is responsive but not active. She still has not eaten since yesterday around 2, which of course really concerns me. She continues to breath as if she's uncomfortable. My daughter just called and said Diamond just vomitted and the vomit had brown "stuff" mixed in with saliva, which was foamy. I am so worried. I am at work but think I will go home for lunch and determine if I need to take her back to the Vet. I wanna cry. |

| I agree. If this was merely a little bug she picked up, she should be showing signs of improvement. The brown you're seeing is most likely fecal matter, if you're positive she hasn't eaten. Good luck and please post or pm me when you get back from the vet.

| Hi everyone just want to let you know my Diamond is doing much much better. I went home for lunch and when I walked in the door she ran to me and practically jumped into my arms. I picked her up then hugged and kissed her. In return she gave me kisses on my nose. That's when I knew my Diamond was feeling alot better. I'm thinking her illness was indicative to what we and our children get, the stomach flu, I don't know but i'm glad it's going away. I am so thankful for YT. Everyone here is the best. I know how we all love our babies which has us all so available for one another. Eventually I will add pics of Diamond, that is once I learn how - lol. Again thanks and I will T.T.Y.L |
