| Rats! I went outside yesterday to discover my little girl had a dead rat in her mouth. I assume she killed it because she was running around very proud of herself. I had to lure her in the house to get her away from it so I could throw it out. Has anyone experienced this??? I assume she is okay because she has had all of her shots. It really freaked me out!!!!

| Lily carries around prizes sometimes too. The cats kill them and bring them close to the house then Lily takes them over.

| Well I'm a city girl and if Lexi ever catches a rat (hell a mouse for that fact) I think I would run and hide, scream for my husband to get her, and we'de probably never go outside again. LOL

| My Maggie doesnt' do rats. (Blessedly we either don't have them around here, or they're smart enough to hang out at other folks houses). She has, however, in the 3.5 years I've had her managed to catch and kill 3 chipmunks. Just grabs them and gives their necks a quick jerk. And you're right. They are so very proud of themselves when they have "fresh meat" to bring to you! (Oh, and come to think of it, Maggie and Little Molly did manage to get a bird a couple of weeks ago. Must have either been very slow or very stupid!) As long as I catch them before they get into the house with the kill. (And they really are better than the cats. If they catch something, they just want to carry it around and play with it. (I think in the 14 years they've been here they've killed nothing with their paws and teeth...more a matter of giving it heart failure!) |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | lol...Figment - a rat would give ME heart failure - but I know Chanel has caught a birdy in mid air - so they don't just hunt on the ground.....I guess I should say what a good girl your baby was ....but the idea of a rat takes away my enthusiasm here eeewwww.....lol...She must be a REALLY good hunter ! |

| Possums, lots of possums One Sunday morn I was laying on the bed reading the paper and my boys were going nuts at the foot of the bed. I leave the sliding glass door open for them, and they would not stop, so I got up and they had a baby possum, we nursed it (fed it a bottle) and called possum rescue to come get it. A couple of days later, I came home, opened the bathroom door, left it open and then went and closed it (gotta keep it closed, TP you know LOL) and the dogs went nuts scratching at the door, I opened it and there was another baby possum behind the toilet and I live in the city. God knows what they would get if I lived in the country. |

| Oh my gosh...heart attack. Gave me chills just to read your post! milliecorrales: How nice of you to nurse those Baby possums. Possums have big teeth. I would think they could really hurt a yorkie. I had a German Shepherd once that got into a fight with possum and it got underneath of him and umm...." naturally neutered" him. Poor thing, the vet said the possum did a good job. ICK! |
