And a few more of Murphy! Please pardon me!! I'm a bit overzealous about my pride and joy as far as the public is concerned, but HERE, I can boast and "feel at home"....I love it!! Here are a few pics of Murphy with his long hair b/f I just recently gave him a puppy cut. His hair was beautiful, but his bathroom breaks caused it to mat...and rainy days were tough too! Do all of you think I should grow him back out or keep him short?? Thanks for the input!

Hi my brother lives in Columbia and my niece lives in Nashville. Welcome to YT. I love your little Murphy. He is very handsome. I think he is beautiful cut either way. With summer coming on I think I will cut my Murphie's hair too. She is a girl. (I named her after Murphie Brown from tv) I was hoping blonde, beautiful and intelligent. lol It will be hard to keep it long with summer coming and we do alot of horse camping. Let me know if grooming is easier with the shorter hair.

Murphy is a doll. He is so sweet and I love his little robe. I am partial to dogs in a long coat because I feel like the coat is what makes the yorkie but I can say from experience that it is a pain to keep them all groomed and at times I think about cutting mine too but haven't done it yet. Murphy is cute either way.

He's cute either way, but I have to say I do prefer the longer coat. They say not to cut the hair, because it actually keeps them cooler in the summer. I lived in Estill Springs for 20 months. We bought a beautiful home on 6 1/2 acres. The people there wouldn't have anything to do with us because we came from CA. Quite the mentality there. We moved back home where it's more civilized.

| Your Murphy is so... cute. I like the puppy cut cause it's easier to maintain. Welcome to YT.

Thanks soooo much!!! Awww, thanks everyone!! I love this board. I can spend hours on it, as I'm sure you already have! Big "oh no" for future productivity in my new job!! Thanks for the input. yeah, the long hair is what can/does distinguish the breed. His coat was so silky! I figure in the end it IS just hair and I can go back and forth w/ his "looks"....but OH MY!!! How much easier it is!! Instead of brushing for 20-30 mins every day, I can literally NOT brush for a few days and there still are no mats and he STILL looks as cute as can be. I got him from a breeder about 2 months ago (he's 1.5 yrs old), who intended for him to be her show dog, but he just didn't have the attitude to be in the ring. After that, she bred him to her females twice.....each time w/ the female having major delivery problems b/c the puppies were so big (only 2 of them). Females both had to have a C-section. She and her family loved him but she needed another male and reluctantly sold him to me. We are in close touch though. Her family misses him immensely (and I THINK want him back!) Murphy is sooooo good!! I never have to scold him for anything. He's literally perfffect and I am in love. This is my first pet ever all on my own. I'm 32, by the way!! FYI, (and kinda off-topic but....) I am getting a shelter dog (an 8 lb Maltese named Hope) on May 1....it's from a "DeathRowDogs program" in Greenville, KY. have you ever seen that Animal Planet show called "Cell Dogs?" Well, the shelter dog lives w/ inmates for 10 weeks where they go through intense obedience training.....the lil Maltese will even ring a bell when it has to use the bathroom!! (I hope Murphy catches on...how cool would that be!?) haha. Graduation is May 1. I pick Murphy's new sis after graduation. Hope he likes little Hope!! Ok, have I rambled enough?! Forgive!! hehe

Welcome from one Murfee to another Murphy. I love the long hair but have always kept Murfee fairly short. We camp a lot and the burrs were horrible to get out of the long hair. We haven't been for awhile so he is longer than usual. I love to browse around this website, I have learned soooo much
