Introducing Ceiba (SAY-buh) Hello YT Members! I have been a longtime lurker on the boards (both YT and MT) and finally decided to jump in and join. I am also a newbie member at Maltese Talk under the same user name. You guys are chock full of information and insight - it's great!! Anyway, I'd like to take up a thread and introduce my little Ceiba to you all. She is a 13wk old Maltese/Yorkie mix. (BTW, what is the preferred name? Yorktese? Morkie? Malkie? I usually go with Yorktese ...) She is currently weighing in at 2.11lbs and is fiesty and fearless! Hope to get to know you all more! Here are some pics of Ceiba - in case you wanted to know what she looks like....

Welcome to this wonderful site. I am getting a morkie myself, she is 2 weeks old. The way it was explained to me is if the mother is a maltese then the puppy is called a morkie. If the mother is a yorkie they are called a yorktese. I hope this helps!

Heehee, yeah, she sure does look like a bandit! She IS a bandit! When I brought her home I said she looked like a raccoon and the vet said a panda! When she's a little distance from me, you can't see her eyes at all! She tears a little bit, so the black covers the stains up nicely! Hope to keep posting/chatting with you all!

Thanks! In everyone's very valued opinion, does she look more Maltese or more Yorkie? If she were all white, I'd think she's pure Maltese, but sometimes she looks Yorkie-ish to me, especially when she's on her back and her ears are stickin' straight up! (Like in the pic below (a little blurry, but you get the idea!)) PS - I've even heard she looks like a Shih-tzu (understandable, but hmph!)
