Sucha sweetie and she is so good with going on the paper!! now, i have a quick question. ive noticed that since ive had her home and ive been giving her that nutri-cal, that she is getting a tad bit pudgey!! does that mean im giving her too much? i give her about, the size of a dime once a day..is that too much? i started giving her a little less, 'causei dont want her to get all obese and stuff. but is it ok for her to get pudgey or do i need to give her less..? just checkin. thx everyone and i hope yall have been alright lately, same goes for your lil furbabiez too

| She's adorable! I honestly don't think a dime size of Nutrical once a day should make her gain weight. Most people give their dogs Nutrical once a day and they don't gain any weight ... and a dime size is not too much at all. What are you feeding her? What about treats? Also, are you able to walk her (is she old enough to go outside yet)?

| She is just adorable and doesn't look pudgy to me at all! Most puppies can't really gain too much weight at that age. They need all those nutrients to grow strong and healthy bones! |

| hehe oh ok i was just wondering because she has put on quite the lil belly since she came home. she is 8 weeks old today, and i havent taken her on any walks yet, she is very young. should i really start taking her on walks now? at what age is it good to start walking her? im scared to put her in the grass near here because of that whole parvo[sp?] thing thats been around here...a little german shepherd pup my mom took in about 6 months ago died from that, i definitely dont want to risk her dieing from that. she goes in for her shots next week though, so would it be ok to take her for a walk after she gets those?

| I'd be really careful taking your baby outside until after all the shots are finished. Especially since there was parvo there. I live in an apartment community and when I first got my baby, I started trying to train him to go to the bathroom outside. He picked up tapeworms. The vet told me that it would be better since I don't live in a controlled environment, to wait until Sparky finishes his shots. He's 15 weeks and taking the shot thing a little slow because of bad reactions, so I'm happy having a little paper wetter running around. By the way, he's almost 100% paper trained. He's such a sweetie. |

She's awfully small to only be fed twice a day. My boy is only 4 pounds and my girl is 1 pound 11 ounces and I free feed both of them. However, when I got Jewelina my vet told me to feed her about 5-6 times a day because of her size. She was 1 pound 9 ounces then. As to the milk, personally, I'd stop putting it over her food now. Store bought milk doesn't have the nutrients in it that a mothers milk would have and sometimes it can make your dogs tummy not feel so great. This is a formula I used to give Jewelina before bed every night and she just loved it: 1/2 cup half and half 1/2 cup baby rice cereal 1 jar meat baby food, anything but turkey 1 tsp. karo syrup I'd mix all of this together and give her about two to three tablespoons before bed. If you wanted something to put over her food instead of milk you might want to try that since it has a good mix of protien and carbs in it and should keep her blood levels regulated. I feed Jewelina Canidae All Life stages kibble now and I just put it out for her dry and put a supplement over it called "Missing Link" and she just nibbles on it throughout the day. I personally believe in free feeding because both of mine are so small. I've never had any problems with either of them and I say if they want to eat, let them eat! I would try just giving her the dry food without soaking it and see if she'll eat it. It's better for her teeth if she will, you could even try drizzling a little bit of that honey you are giving her over the food and you can heat up her dry food if you want (I put Jaden and Jewelina's in the microwave for about 10 seconds. That way I know it isn't TOO hot but it is "warm") if she doesn't seem inclined to eat it at first and see how it goes from there. | |

| First off your baby isn't getting fat on Nutri-Cal feeding the dime size a day. I think it much be either the food or snack or both. Sounds like she was much too young to have been taken from her mom too. Don't walk her outside till she's had all her shots. And I would take her to your moms unless your mom has scrubbed everything down in bleach water after the dog died of parvo. The parvo germ can live forever anywhere, even on the bottom of your shoes. |

| I did the mistake of letting my baby lick a drop of milk off my finger. Now he's bugging me every time I grab a glass of milk to drink!
