| Hi, Im a Newbie! Hello Everyone, My name is Tinah. I am new here and also new to Yorkies. I just got my little one a few weeks ago. He is about 13 wks old and weighs 1.8 lbs. At first I was hoping he would stay small but now I hope he is atleast 4 lbs or bigger. I have 2 daughters a 4yr old and a 8yr old. I also have another dog named Tex who is a Staffordshire Terrier. He is 5 months old and 45 lbs. He is really good with Teddy (extra gentle). I was hoping you all could help me out with maybe some special treats Yorkies like. Where I could get some cute little outfits for him. Games Yorkies might like to play. He is so tiny I dont know how to treat him or what to do. He likes toys and rawhides although I think I read they are bad for him. Is that right? Also was not aware that yorkies should not wear collars. I will have to get him a harness. Let me know anything else you all think I should know. |

| Hi Tinah! Welcome to YorkieTalk! Oh, there's tons of treats you can give Yorkies. Many are fond of bully sticks, some give their Yorkies Greenies (though there have been some medical issues with Greenies in the past), and cookies too. My Yoda & Winky love the cookies from Target! |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Welcome to YT. Nice job on posting the avatar picture. Can't wait to see more pics of that cutey. Sounds like you've read up quite a bit. Good for you. There's tons of good information here. I'd agree that harnesses are the way to go. Yorkies have tender necks. I don't like rawhides because my guys swallow them, but I know some people who monitor their Yorkies closely and make sure they don't swallow them. Kongs, bullysticks and Nylabones are good, tough toys, but Yorkies love soft squeaky toys too. Just make sure they don't chew them up and swallow them. For healthy treats, some people give their Yorkies Cheerios and carrots and apples. But as long as you don't overdo it, they love anything with beef or liver or chicken in it.

| Hi and welcome to YT. Your Teddy is really little and so adorable. If he likes vanilla yogart Vitimins ? something puts out a yogart drop. Buddy loves them. They come in peanut butter, vanilla and chocolate. I assume the chocolate is something other than real chocolate because we all know Yorkies can't have that. They are very nutitious and healthy for them. Also Old Mother Hubbard treats are very wholesome as well. You just have to be very careful of fat intake. Not good for Yorkies. Good luck with your little one. I look forward to seeing more pictures of your baby. Carol & Buddy |
