| Seaside Yorkie Pup on DivaPups.com Website I don't want to start a negative post here but I just saw something that upset me... I love checking out Monique's pups on the Seaside Website. I've heard great things about her and was actually considering calling her about a Yorkie. Just now I was reading through some posts and clicked a link to divapups.com. They were selling several of Monique's dogs -- same pictures; same copy; same names (more than coincidence) -- for twice as much as Monique was asking for them. Does Monique sell to brokers? If so this upsets and concerns me. Am I over reacting? |

| I thought that too... I suppose the thing to do, if I'm seriously interested in getting a dog from Seaside, is to ask Monique about it directly. I'm a big believer in innocent until proven guilty. Last edited by lizzie1955; 12-23-2006 at 03:04 PM. |

| divapups do sell at higher prices. You list how much you the breeder are expecting and they add their price (divapups) on top. Personally it doesn't matter to me, if I am willing to pay the price then I pay it otherwise I go look for another puppy. Everybody has the right to buy and sell at whatever price they perceive as the puppy's worth. Just my opinion.

| Emma Rose’s Maltese Divapup LLC ("DivaPup") discloses that they are not the Breeder of the aforementioned puppies but acts as the advertising agent of the Breeder and has not taken title to the puppies being sold it seems that this women doesnt breed she is a broker, so seaside yorkies is the "breeder" and this women is just a broker who charges enough to make something also . thats my guess ...... http://www.divapup.com/disclaimers.asp

| Thanks for the info everyone and the clarification. I agree that Divapups has the right to sell the dogs for whatever they like. The only thing that concerned me was that a breeder I had researched extensively, who seemed extremely caring about her dogs and the homes they went to -- and who had very positive feedback, would sell to a broker. As I mentioned earlier, I'm sure there is a good explanation and I should query Monique directly when the time comes. Have a Joyous Holiday! Liz- |

| seaside yorkie I couldn't help seeing what others had written about seaside yorkies. I too, have been taken advantage of. I received my little via a flight from Miami and she was very tiny...about 2lbs. She was only to get up to 4 lbs or so. She grew to be 9 1/2 lbs but this was also because of her terminal illness. After 1 yr she developed pancreatitis and then had to more bouts of the disease during her short life of 6 1/2 yrs. She passed 11/4/10 due to collapse trachea. We spend a lot of time at the vet during her life. I wrote the owner, but you can imagine what i heard back...NOTHING. I feel inlove with my little Missy and I feel I lost part of myself when she passed. She was my best friend. Just wish she wasn't so sick all the time. To all those who are out there, please be careful of who you buy your yorkie from...there are people who only breed for the money, not for the life of the dog. I am still in mourning and will someday look at purchasing another little Missy, but only from a repitable breeder. Heartbroken...... |

| A reputable breeder would not sell via a broker or pet store. If you are buying a dog or puppy, you want to buy directly from a reputable breeder you know will stand behind their dogs and be there to guide you/advise you if something goes wrong. When you buy through a third party such as a broker or pet store, who is responsible for guarantees and who would you contact if a problem comes up? That is one way for a breeder to just sell and dodge responsibility. That being said, you still have to be careful in your search for someone reputable. Contracts are only as good as both parties involved. |
