| First Grooming/Ears Don't Stand Hey everyone. Haven't been on here in a while. The time has come when I can no longer keep up with Lola's coat and must let the professionals take over. Lol... She is 8 months old and her coat is tangled and matting here and there. Well, I spoke to my Mentors and they say that happens and her puppy coat is falling out so to speak. Either way, I am asking them to shave her belly, her bum, and her ears. Her ears only stand halfway. Since she is already 8 months, do you think it's safe to say that this is the way her ears will stay or is there still hope? Should I mention any in particular to the Groomers to see what they can do? Either way she still our wild Lola and we love her either way. Any feedback would help. Thanks! Eddy PS will post pics later on...bye |

| I definately think there is still hope that her ears will stand up...especially if the groomer shaves them. Can't wait to see pretty pics after her day at the salon! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I agree - keeping the ears shaved on the top third helps them stand - take the weight of the hair off & sometimes they stand right up - but at 8 months - they may not ..... I remember my girls both went thru that puppy coat phase and man they DID tangle easily....GOOD LUCK at the groomer - and if her ears don't stand all the way - don't sweat it - she's cute and there are lots of little floppy eared yorkies out there |

and people are talking about Cowboy Magic Detangler as a good way to remove matts and knots....I actually just ordered some for the girls - when they were clothes I notice more tangles.... | |

| Hopefully Lola's ears will stand up after the trimming. Can't wait to see pics of her. Gucci's coat tangles when she wears clothes so I don't keep it long. Im going to try Cowboy Magic, I heard It works wonders. |
