| Introducing Katie and her family!! My name is Kristie. I'm 34. I live in Great Falls, MT. I'm a mommy of 5 and a step mom to another 7. My dh is Joe...he got me my first yorkie, Scruffy. http://www.dropshots.com/photos/2105...117/155334.jpg Sadly, Scruffy was only with us 10 days. He was bit by a black widow spider and didn't make it. We all cried for days. I loved that little guy sooo much. Even though he was with us for such a short time, he left a lasting impression on all of us. On to happier times.... My kids are 15, 11, 9, 2, and 6 months. Heather is my oldest. This is her at Prom..she's on the left.... http://www.dropshots.com/photos/2105...502/163750.jpg Christina is next. http://www.dropshots.com/photos/2105...128/095435.jpg then Justin http://www.dropshots.com/photos/2105...117/111939.jpg Kylie http://www.dropshots.com/photos/2105...218/202809.jpg and finally Jayce Tucker http://www.dropshots.com/photos/2105...512/073013.jpg We live on about 8 acres and have dogs, a cat, three horses, chickens and geese. oh and two bunnies. My husband is a Federal contractor. He mainly builds roads, campgrounds, bridges, trails etc for the US Forest Service. He works all across the western states and is currently in NM. He is gone pretty much from April to November. What can I say..we log LOTS of miles on the truck and in the air!! This year is probably his last year of contracting...at least so far from home anyways. I used to own a day spa, but we closed in April. Too much headache to lose your butt every month....so now, i stay at home..but am training to start barrel racing competitively next year....as if i dont have enough to do!! It's been a life long dream though and now I can, so i AM!! My yorkie babies...Katie is 5 months old. I got her kind of on a spur of the moment thing. Saw her in the paper, and grabbed her. She is CKC registered. I should have researched her previous owner more, but got excited and didnt. Honestly, I think she is borderline puppy mill. She had to "meet me somewhere else...." due to county regulations/ neighbor complaints about "traffic" Yeah, whatever. When I saw Katie (who was 5 months old and had NO NAME) I knew i had to get her. She was very scared. I don't think (in retrospect) she had ever been anywhere before. I picked her up....she was timid but licked my fingers...She just had a look about her I can't explain really....kinda like PLEASEE take ME! The van she arrived in was FILTHY! I mean, I have 5 kids...and a suburban and from times to times it gets quite dirty...more cluttered than dirty..but this was BAD!! I could only imagine what her house looked like. She said that "the puppy" was, "the shy one' never coming up to you for affection or when you called her...but would let you "go get her". BULLSPIT!! Katie came home with me right then. I couldn't leave her. She had to come home with me. When we got home, Katie was quiet at first, shy an reserved like she said...Well, fast forward two weeks. She is a little yorkie NUT! She now LOVES everyone..even Kylie who sometimes loves her a little TOO much! She rarely leaves my side except to go out and terrorize the big dogs. She comes RUNNING when i call her NAME! She plays with her toys, chases the cat, loves the kids and sleeps on my bed! She has blossomed into what she should be a crazy happy loving little yorkie princess...I'm scared to think of what she would have become if I hadn't found her. We are getting Katie's friend and buddy for life, "Tonka" on Saturday. He is Scruffy's replacement puppy. Joe's brother raises Yorkies...even though it wasn't a genetic/ medical thing that caused his passing, he knew how much I loved him and replaced him for me for free. I am sooo excited!! He is a male they were going to keep, but now he is mine. Joe already has him in NM and is flying home with him on Saturday!! I can't wait! That's us in a rather LARGE nutshell. Hope ya lasted this long. Kristie |

| Wow!!!! You have a very full life. Thanks for telling us about yourself and your family. It's always nice to know a little about the new members that are joining. I take it that you live in the country since you live on 8 acres. We live in the country too. My husband is a farmer here in Kansas. I'm a stay-at-home mom too, but once in a while I help my husband by driving the tractor or running errands. I'm 49 and have 4 children (one son and 3 daughters) and 5 grandchildren. My son and oldest daughter are married. My second daughter is in college, but lives at home. My youngest daughter is 14 and will be in the 9th grade this next year. We have a yorkie, Reuger, who just turned one, and an airdale, Mollee, and a cat. It sounds like you got quite a deal on your little girl and she's blossomed in your care. I wish that I had a little girl to go with Reuger. I just love the thought of dressing her up. My husband told me that I could get one, but now I'm trying to figure out if I want to breed them or just have pets. It will make a difference on what I'll be looking for when I get ready to buy one. I guess that I've gone on long enough. I'll plan on seeing you around on YT!! Again, Welcome!!!

| WOW!!! Now THAT was a full post! My mouth was dropped open through a lot of it! Twelve kids?! A black widow?! barrel racing?! shady breeders?! replacement puppies?! I feel like I've just been watching a soap opera! But one with a happy ending! I'm so glad you're getting a new little guy....Scruffy's story was so sad. I can't imagine! "Tonka" was on my list, in case I ended up with a boy yorkie! What a great name for this tough little breed! My vet sz, "Pound for pound, the toughest dogs around". Welcome to YT!!!

| LOL..yea, i tend to ramble!! Trust me, if anyone told me even 6 yrs ago that i'd have 5 kids of my own, let alone the stepkids, I'd have told them they were freaking crazy...now granted, only one stepson lives with us...the oldest is 24 and the youngest is 7....so most are grown and gone....I forgot to mention that the cat is pregnant!! I was going to take her to the free spay/neuter clinic this month..uhhh guess not! But we always need mouse catchers lol...after this, she's snipped though. She was a rescue of sorts...some renters of ours left her behind and she got stuck in the wall of the house somehow behind the bathroom vanity...the guys found her when taking down the tub surround etc repairing damages left by the crappy renters.....think she's only going to have 2 or maybe 3 at teh most...she is not big AT ALL...and should be due in the next couple weeks...we'll see.
