| Alex says "Hello" This is my 5 year old yorkie, Alex. He had his second surgery for luxating patellas in March is has made a full recovery. I know the little guy is much happier now that he can run and play fetch. |

Thanks for taking the time to post. Alex originally had the surgery on both of his legs atthe same time when he was about 1 year old. He recovered really fast and was running around a couple of weeks later. However, I would like to point out that the first surgery they do for this condition may not always be successful. Unfortunately for Alex, he started having problems a year post-surgery with his left leg. It finally got so bad that he would would hardly use his leg and would hold it up. I relocated to Dallas and found a wonderful specialist who told me that whenever surgery is done on both legs at the same time-you are doomed for failure. So, I had the surgery on his left leg completed in March and he is doing great! Hi right leg still luxates a little bit but he walks on it fine and it does not appear to bother him. REMEMBER, if you are going to have the surgery please just do one leg at a time. Surgery Cost=$2000.00 | |
