| Pixie and Paris Got their 2nd Bird! My two girls think they are Bird dogs!!! Its Baby Bird season! And we have them dropping out of the trees like crazy!! They are all so close to being full grown!! They can fly low to the ground and are fully feathered... ugh!! But just not faster than two fierce Yorkie hunters!!! Thankfully I have been right there to catch both of them at the moment they pinned their prey to the ground..... But I can't even tell you how silly I must have looked diving at them, my knees were all green! It was something!! I missed them like a dozen times! she'd get it, it would break free, the hunt would be on again! I would be trying to get up on my feet and here they would come.... I would dive! and nothing but elbows full of grass burn!! it was really sad... I am not as agile as I used to be! And all the while... we have momma bird diving at us and pecking at the dogs! Screaching, squawking, flapping... anything to try and save her baby! Poor thing! Long story short.... Pixie finally Got a good hold on that baby bird...I pryed the bird out of Pixies mouth.... and let it go over the brick wall into the neighbors yard... I know that they don't have any dogs on that side... and its momma flew over to tend to it.... it was fine... nothing broken, just wet with drool... And exausted I'm sure!!! Pixie, Paris, and Gizmo spent the next half and hour searching the bushes for another victim!! They were possessed! The thirst for Birdy blood was heavy in the air!!!! It was crazy!!! Pixie was the worst!!!! She had it in her mouth!!!! She was so close!!!! So close!!!! Mom Takes all the fun away! Poor puppy.... poor birds! They don't stand a chance in my yard!!!

| Haha- those poor baby birds!! My cat is a professional bird hunter... and geez is he good... he once got a whole family in one day, I felt so bad. I wish he would stop but I know there's not much I can do since he loves living outside. He is one tough kitty...

| I know I am going to miss one.... I cant be there every second.... and when they drag on inside its going to kill me! ugh! My daughter tried to get me to keep the last one they caught! But we had to explain to het that we have a parrot... and wild birds can give domestic birds illnesses that can kill them... She said... Its a baby Mom! Its not sick! lol It was a long conversation...

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Oh man - you have your hands full and yes - you WILL miss one. My girls have caught 3 and I was right out there with them - it happens way too fast - I can't believe you were quick enough to rescue the baby birds but wow - we didn't have THAT many...you may need a catcher mitt out there with you and stand under the tree if you think you can REALLY save them lol - Yorkies are GOOD hunters - mine caught 2 in MID AIR and one on the ground...poor baby birds. They don't want to eat them - just CATCH them |

| LOL, you two are giving great visuals. We are having the same prob. here only in the discoveries through the low windows in our house, Yogi has discovered Mr. Turtle. He is a box turtle that has lived in our yard for the last two months. Every morn. he goes to four windows at all ends of the house to look for birds and the turtle. When he finds the birds he just barks and barks. When he finds the turtle he literally scream barks in a Yorkie language I have never heard. It is so different that my hubby and I both know when we hear it, he found the turtle, we can run to the same window and there he is, trotting across to somewhere, its hysterical. Yogi is screaming so much, he bounces out of the window sill several times. Dori is looking at him with this expression of "Your an obsess munch and you need help", LOL. He scared to death of the turtle, if we take him outside to look at him, he crawls up your arm to get away from him, but he will dart at the birds!
