| Photos I Would Like to See I would LOVE to see some photos of your 'puppy' areas of your homes. I am curious as to how most of you have you homes set up, with crates, baby gates, rooms, exercise pens, etc... As someone who is heading in the direction of adopting a puppy of my own sometimes soon I would love to see how your 'puppy' areas are set up! |

| I am not a good example because I have a hard time confining my babies. When they first came home I had a playpen for them in my bedroom and I only let them out into the rest of th house when the bigger dogs were outside and I could supervise closely. That was probably for about a week. Then I would move the playpen around the house (we have a single story and the playpen had wheels) to the room we were in in the evenings and got them more acquainted with the other dogs (a westie and a standard poodle) under supervised conditions. Gradually I have opened up almost the entire house to them. I have a gate that blocks the family room area and I close that when we are all in there watching TV or I am on the computer. I sometimes even open that though because their food is around the corner in the kitchen and I wnat them to have access to it at will. I have a bed for them in almost every room so they have a comfortable safe place and I have pee pads in the main rooms as well, but I am trying to train them to use the ones in the bathrooms. Hefner is catching onto this concept fairly well at 6 months but Chai is still only partially there, but she will get there. I f I have to leave them alone during the day I put Chai in the playpen a room where I let Hefner roam freely in the room, either my bedroom or the familyroom. I am constantly "puppyproofing" the house. We have a family of six and Hefner ia the biggest trash monster so I have to keep on them all all the time to make sure they don't leave anything out that might be bad for the puppies. I hope that helps! Good luck |

| puppy area... What I have at night is, I have a small corner of my kitchen blocked off.. I use the railings from a crib that I use to have.. I will take a pic tonight when I set it up.. During the day he runs around for about 10-15 minutes in my small living room, depending on how much he ate.. I guage that if he didn't eat a lot and didn't drink his water, I don't let him play to long.. I put him in his crate and close the door, for him to have a nap to regain his energy.. as soon as he wakes up I put him in his potty box. I use pee pads. then I try to get him to eat and drink a bit more..That is what I do.. I am new to having this type of puppy.. I have always had big dogs growing up.. I enjoy having the new addition to my family!! hugs Barb (Ridicks Mommy) |

Not really the kind of thing everyone wants in their home, but it works in our rustic style. We call it Corky's Tree House! All my photos are too large to upload I'll take a pic later or I could email it to you.

| Our Puppy Setup Here are two photos. The first is Esme's play yard. This is where she stays during the day when we are at work. I CAN NOT wait for her to be mature enough to be loose while we are at work so I can get rid of that thing! The second is her little cushion next to her water bowl. She takes all her treats to this cushion, or things she steals from around the house, like socks, shoes, toilet paper. She seems to think that if she makes it the cushion, it now belongs to her. Up on the end table is a basket of toys. I tried putting the basket on the floor for her, but she was eating the straw, so she sits there and whimpers when she wants me to bring some new toys down for her. She sleeps in a crate next to our bed, don't have a picture of that. We have a really small home, so it's tough to set aside so much space for Esme, but she is soooo worth it. Good Luck! Mari

| Gosh....I would have to take pics of the entire house. When Schatize was a baby we had a human baby playben set up for her., that however is up in the attic awaiting our new pup. She never had the entire house for herself... Now she uses the laundry room/entry way off the garage use or her kennel when she is alone...However most the time she has full use of the entire house. since she is mature and potty trained..
