| What coat is my Yorkie? Hi guys! I'm a new Yorkie mommy and I was just wondering what coat does my yorkie have? I saw some discussions on cotton coats & silky coats so I'm not too sure. From the looks of it, my Yorkie (Bambi) seems to have streaks of hair that are shiny on her head and also her limbs but her body looks dull and perhaps cotton. They do mat now and then when I brush and detangle her everyday. Also, what color is her coat? She seems to have blonde streaks of hair and pepper, grey colored coat? What do you guys call this? I'll attach pictures of her here and for you guys to take a look. Let me know what u guys think? (sorry i'm really an amateur here!) |

| I'd call it cute! She looks pretty young to me (I'm not an expert) so chances are her coat will keep changing colors at least for awhile. I have a four year old and I think she is still changing. My Lexi looks very similar to your pup. Whatever the coat is called, you have a very cute baby. |

| silk or soft coat Bambi is so adorable. her hair is on the lighter side! Makes me think she's a parti/silk coat, but I'm no expert! Just been reading up a lot of articles. I'm wondering myself if my new baby girl Minnie is a silk or soft coat. She's about 17 weeks and showing signs of color change on her head and down her back. I've attached photos if someone could also help this new Yorkie mom out too! She is shedding quite a bit of hair onto my black shirt- maybe that's her soft puppy hair that is growing out? Is this normal? How old is Bambie? She looks small and adorable! |

| Bambi is adorable & I love her name! She might have what's called modified coat, where it's mixed w/ silky & soft (cottony) hair. How old is she? Hair texture might change, just like their color.

| I hope not but it looks cottony to me. My Sophie, as adorable as she is, has it too, so I keep her cut short to avoid the mats.

| Cute Cute Cute!! Bambi is a real doll!! Our little Sophie has a soft cottony coat. If she is not groomed before her hair starts to grow out longer she starts to look a bit wavy. I try to keep her in a puppy cut. I think she is adorable either way (just sayin'). You can check out her progression/cuts in her album.
