Waiting for my new baby Yorkie Hi, I've been looking for a Yorkie baby for quite some time and finally found her. She is only 11 weeks old and I will be getting her from the breeder next week when she turns 12 weeks. I am so excited and just cant wait. I am researching home cooked meals for her as I do not want to feed her commercial dog food. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I want to have everything ready when she gets here although I know I will wean her slowly from what she has been being fed. I will post pics when she arrives. I am so glad I found this site.

Please dont switch her to any new food immediately!! Leave her on what she is used to eating from the breeder....after she is 8 months old, then start switching around if you want. Her diet is the only thing that little baby has left of what she has known her entire life up to the point when you take her home....she will be under enough stress leaving everything that looks, smells, and sounds like everything she knows and loves....siblings, momma, breeder and breeder family, etc....please dont take the only thing left, the food she is adjusted to and tolerating well. If it aint broke, dont fix it! Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 01-26-2015 at 11:17 PM.

Puppy Home cooked recipe Thanks Days! Yorkiemom I dont plan on changing her diet as I posted I will wean her slowly but didnt think I had to wait til she was eight months old. I hate feeding commercial dog food as I know it has so much in it that is just not healthy. I am planning on waiting a month and then start weaning her off slowly. Thanks for your advice.
