| My very first Yorkie It was a long exhaustive search but I finally found my first little Yorkie fur baby. His name is Skippy and he is 11 weeks old. He's got so much personality. I wanted to name him Bear (but couldn't get my husband to agree) because he reminds me of a bear when he raises his front paws up and tries to attack me. He's so FUNNY! I love him so much. | Thanks. He is so unlike my last dog, scooter a Pomeranian. Skippy is so child like, so delicate. He got a sticker in his foot The other day in my back yard (gonna have to keep him away from That part of the yard) but he cried and screamed just like a baby! My son was over and he said "mom, he sounds just like a baby!" It was so sad but so sweet too. I'm looking forward to getting a Female dome day soon as soon as I learn all I can about these breeds. |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Hello and Welcome to YT. He is adorable. "Yorkies For Dummies" is the first one I recommend. ."Yorkshire Terriers: A Smart Owners Guide" is the second book. These are excellent resource books .Another book "How to Housebreak Your Dog in 7 Days" Is very helpful. They are not as easy to housebreak. Also does he have all his shots? It is dangerous to bring a puppy out without having all his shots. Parvo, Lepto are not very nice. It is said to wait 2 weeks after he gets all his shots to take him outside.

| he is darling, very cute indeed. be careful in the garden and outside with puppies as you probably know from your last pup, they love chewing and eating things from the garden. There was someone recently that posted their pup caught Guaridia(SP) from wood chips. I have been around yorkies for over 25 years and had no idea that could happen.

Is it too early to have him groomed since he hasn't had all his vaccs? I started trying to brush him last night, and he DOES NOT like it at all. I'm trying to slowly get him use to it. I have figured out that these dogs are not easy to housebreak. It took him forever to poop in the backyard last night, but he did. Also, when he wakes up early like 0500 this morning. I take him to the pee pad which he uses. I Hope that's not confusing to him, but I hate to go out in the dark where the large possums lurk. LOL. So far, he is doing better about both going out and using the pad. He's only had his first set of shots. I asked my vet if it was safe to take him to my backyard and he assured me it was okay. He said just don't take him to dog parks, petsmart or places where other dogs are. I've taken him to petsmart but I hold him and don't let him out of my arms. Right now, this little baby is being destructive!!!! LOL, chewing on anything and everything!!! lol | |
