my baby boy not well :( hi, my poor benji boy went to vet last week with a ear infection and then we found out he was in heart failure, he has a leeky heart valve and heart murmur. he was put onto cardisure and fruosol twice a day. he is 10 yrs and still very lively, vet wants us to keep him calm. how i dont know lol? he is so active. does anyone else been in this situation? if so how did your little toots cope? xxx |
I haven’t been there, but I just wanted to tell you I will be thinking of you and Benji. Praying everything goes ok for Benji! For my Peanut- he will feed off of me. If I am laying around the house, he is as well- if I am walking around a lot cleaning or whatever he will be following me around playing with toys… How long do you have to keep him calm? |
as long as possible, his heart wont cope if he gets too excited and he cant stop coughing. the only way he will stay calm is if im sitting on sofa and he curls up beside me to get his tummy rubbed he loves it and it put him to sleep. he follows me everywhere too i cant even pee but he is crying at door and he has to sleep on bath mat when im in the bath ha ha x |
thank you for prayers they are much appreicated xxx |
so sorry to hear that, but i don't have any advice. you might want to ask the moderators to move this thread to the sick and injured section since you will get more help there. Good luck |
oh right ok thank you. im a newbie. how would i go about doing that? xxx |
what I would do is click on the little red triangle in the box under your info on the left. That is a report post button and it takes you to screen where you can send a message to the moderator. Just tell them that being new you made a mistake on where to put your thread. This happens a lot with new members so it's nothing to be embarrassed about, LOL it even happens with experienced members. I personally don't care where threads wind up, but I just want you to get the most help you can get with your question, and By the way, welcome to Yorkie Talk, we have been getting a lot of members from England, Scotland and Ireland which I think is great. |
thank you. i just copied and pasted lol xx |

She did beautifully with the medications she was on, and she lived almost another 6-7 years. Her activitylevel was restricted, but that was OK by me...we just did short back yard excursions, no running wildly around chasing the squirrels, or running up and down the fence barking at the neighbors dog....we just went and checked out the fruit trees, watched the fish in the pond, watched the birds at the feeder, enjoyed laying in the sun.....I hope your little Benji does as well as my Aija did.....dont get discouraged with the diagnosis....did you have him seen by a cardiologist? A specialist? I would suggest that, just so you can be sure the most appropriate meds are being utilized. |
hi yorkiemom, thats boosted my spirits :) benji is a little fighter. he is so so active and loves outside and walks so we are going to get garden fenced off so he still gets out and reduce his length of walks, he wont poop in the garden so cant cut out some of walks. he wants out for a walk 5-6 times a day and probably more if he thought he could get away with it. the vet wants to do a 3 week test of cardisure and fruosol to see how he gets on,then refer him for MRI scan. all those things sound lovely. benji barks at everthing that goes past the house, when out walking he tries to scare away lorries and tractors lol xx |
