| Is my Yorkie a pure bred or mix with Shih Tzu I just recent got a female Yorkie who is supposedly pure bred and is 5 months but she is two times bigger than my sister's male Yorkie who is 6 months. So I went online and searched for some pictures and came across one where she looked like a Shih Tzu mixed with yorkie. Now my question is, how do you really know for sure if your dog is pure bred? (she have the black and brown colors. but she also have thick hairs. alot of thick hair that is half black and the inside gray on her body.) HELP!!!! i've attached two pictures. the one standing is the Shih Tzu mix with Yorkie that I found online and the one sitting is my Georgina. |

| She looks all Yorkie to me. Some just come in different sizes like people. Depends on their parents & on down the line. I think she is adorable.

| Looks like pure yorkie to me too. Yorkie's come in many sizes. They are not always small. You will find some on this website who jokingly call their yorkie's "teapots" because they are a few pounds more than the standard. The standard is considered 4 to 7 pounds I believe. Generally it is said that a few more pounds helps them to be healthy as opposed to the tiny ones under 4 pounds. Doesn't matter...a yorkie is a yorkie and they are loaded with love and personality no matter their size.

| Oh...on the coloring....at 1 year, Copper lost his tan and black and became very silver for months. Now at 2.8 years old, he is back to tan and black. Weird...but I understand it is very normal for them to go through color changes. Doesn't matter...love him no matter what!

With puppies, it's just like people....within the same family some people are little and others big....my son is a whole foot taller than me! She's cute and looks like a yorkie to me. It is hard to tell with puppies though. Differences are more noticeable as adults.

| Awe what a cute baby. Her hair is thick like our Kyra's was as a puppy. Kyra still has the dark hair and thickness just lots easier to care for now. I vote all yorkie.
