| Chewie, my 6-week-old baby:) I am in awe of my new baby! He is my first Yorkie, although I have wanted one for a very long time. I'm so in love with him already!

| I appreciate your opinion and concern, but he's adjusting phenomenally. I grew up with two dogs that my mom adopted, both dachshunds, and dare I say he is relatively easy compared to them. He has 1 sister that was sold the day before I got him. I adopted from a reputable breeder, as I have heard horror stories. I felt very comfortable after meeting the breeder and seeing the environment that he was raised in. I've already taken him to a veterinarian (the day after I got him, as I am very cautious) who confirmed he is perfectly normal and healthy. We already have plans for follow up with the veterinarian for his next set of immunizations. He eats wonderfully (the breeder had already introduced him to soft food with solid food mixed in), he uses his puppy pad, and we will continue puppy pad training until he has finished all of his immunizations (he already has his 6-weeks.) He is a happy, curious and normal puppy. He shows no signs of distress or depression, loves to play and is already very affectionate with myself and my fiance. Some puppies may not be ready to separate from their siblings and mother at 6-weeks, but Chewie is doing wonderfully.

He is the cutest thing, and he is doing wonderfully. I took him to the vet the day after I got him, as I am super cautious and wanted to make sure that he was a healthy boy. The veterinarian did an exam, and concluded that he was perfectly normal and healthy. I am ecstatic that I found this board! Thanks for welcoming me

| Thank you! I appreciate it. I'm so happy that I found this board. It's hard to find a lot of breed specific information, as well as valid information that isn't laced with advertisements for particular products, so I'm ecstatic to have this resource and place to consult with fellow Yorkie lovers!

| He is very cutes, how big is her right now? And does he have any teeth lol? He is def. too young to be away from his parents 10-12 weeks is protocol, BUT I'm sure you can find a lot of help here to make him very very comfortable and keep him healthy through his next few months of vital growth/development. Look up threads on nutrical! That'll be a good thing to have on hand this young!

| Welcome to YorkieTalk! It's really too bad your breeder let him go at 6 weeks, but at this point there is nothing you can do about it. I would just suggest anyone reading this thread not to purchase from a breeder that releases puppies before 12 weeks. A LOT of development happens between 6 and 12 weeks, and it is vital that puppies stay with their moms until they are older. A puppy may 'seem' to be doing well at 6 weeks, but there is no saying what problems this may cause later on in their lives
