| My baby girl Lexie Hi, i got her on monday, shes 10 weeks old now and such a picky eater-except when it comes to fingers and toes. She's just under 2lbs, full of energy and is being very good about not pottying in her crate. I know i'll have to nip the nipping issue in the bud(no pun intended) but i havent a clue how to begin. Anyway Lexie sends all her love and kisses to YT |

As far as picky eating goes, if her "pickyness" is how MUCH she's eating, she may not be picky at all. I have one of each....Bella only eats when she needs to (I used to think she was a picky eater too ) and Maya eats whatever you put in front of her. Just to give you an idea, Bella eats anywhere from 1/8 cup to 3/8 cup per day, totally depending on her activity level (and that's been her range from the day we brought her home at almost 9 wks), and Maya eats from 3/8 cup to 1/2 cup per day (she's 5 months old, so I allow her to have about as much as she wants for now). Both are 4 3/4 lbs. As far as the finger and toe chewing , I would say that's totally up to you, and totally dependent on her. Both of mine started out biting too hard, and I had to teach them bite restriction. If they had continued to bite too hard, then all biting (people anyway ) would be off limits, BUT they both learned to bite people very gently when playing. Bella is 2 1/2 yrs old, and I still let her play bite my hand. Maya is 5 mo old and she is also super gentle now! How I taught bite restriction is that if they bit to the point it hurt AT ALL when we were playing, I'd say "OW" in a very high pitched voice, kind of like a squeal. Then I pull my hand away and turn away from them, basically saying "I don't want to play with you when you hurt me!" It didn't take either of them any time at all...I'd say a couple of weeks or so...until they were being very gentle! When they're still little, they sometimes forget and have to be reminded. Personally, I don't mind the play biting because it's so gentle....I obviously WOULD mind if it hurt though!! Best of luck to you! Feel free to PM me with any questions if you want to....I'd be happy to help you with any puppy training issues you come across! Welcome to YT!!!

| she is sooo cute! welcome to YT! i am from Toronto too! too bad the weather is so cold right now yeah, i would advise against teasing the pup with feet. we did that with dex when he was little because it was so cute to see him jump after our feet, but now he attacks strangers feet in an aggressive way. its hard for us to have people he hasent met over to our house because he follows them around biting their feet!!! its a lot harder to alter behaviour when they are older anyway, enjoy your little one and YT!
