| Tonka is adorable! Did you get him when he was only 7 weeks old? If so that's too early to be taken from the mom, yorkies should stay with their mother until 12 weeks old. They learn a lot from their mother in that time period, and behavior problems often arise when they haven't had that time needed with their mothers. If you do have him that young lots of people on here have been in similar situations and will be able to give you advice. I love the name too. Also, the term "teacup" is a marketing term "breeders" will use to sell smaller than normal yorkies so just be careful about going back to that breeder again. Technically there is no such thing as a teacup yorkie. Welcome to YT!!! You'll learn so much here, I know I did!!!! |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | First of welcome to YT and congratulations on Tonka. Before I joined this site I didnt know there was no such thing as "Teacups" and I also didnt know the proper age for a puppy to leave the litter. I hope you learn as much from this site as I did, it really helped me with my little Poppy.

| to YT! Tonka is quite a beautiful little guy. Hope he grows big & strong!!! We love the little ones but all unfortunately when bred to be small like that that they can have more health issues. As far as where to start, I suggest you just dive right in. Perhaps start with the health and diet as you will find Yorkies are a bit different from most breeds! Anyways, and we look forward to lots of pictures and hearing all the funny antics Tonka will end up pulling Peggy, Monkey & Maddie
