| I shaved Toby.....................by myself!!!!!! Toby had that puppy cotton that got all tangled all the time, so I could never get all the nots out of his coat. Well needless to say I got the clippers out and started in. I think he looks pretty good myself, and it only took me 3 hours. I honestly can say that I will probably take him to the groomers from now on, I just don't know how they do it. He whinned like I was trying to kill him. (I think it was the buzzing of the clippers) but we got him done... Warning: DON'T try THIS AT HOME!!!!! LOL

| It didn't seem to hurt his good looks any! You did a pretty good job of it. Now, tell me, how are your nerves? Oh, yeah, now you're going to have to go out and buy him tons of winter clothes! What a good excuse to go shopping!

| it's funny people complain that groomers take too long, but how many have actually tried it themselves? he he he I feel your pain, I won't do tigger at home only because I don't trust myself with clippers. I'd be too afraid that I'd hurt him. |

| My memory gets worse every day. I thought Chachi tooks hers to the groomer, though. It just takes time to learn and it is by trial and error, too. I used to do Muffin after she got past her crazy puppy years. I'd kill Kacee if I tried to do her, so I won't even attempt it for a long time! What I think helps is if you can get their hair groomed just like you want it and then don't let it grow out very much before you trim it. It's kind of like having a pattern to go by then.

| My Cujo had the worst hair on the face of the earth!! She would get groomed, and by the time we got home, she'd be all tangled up again. She had that cotton-candy hair. It's awful. After I shaved her down, and I do mean SHAVED, all of her hair has come back real soft and manageable. She actually likes to be brushed now. It's the best thing I ever did. None of her puppies have had the same type of hair that she did. I have her full brother, and his hair is great. I don't know what gene accounts for hair type, but I hope I never run across it again!! So far, so good. You did a great job on your little guy. He looks much better than Cujo did after I had her done. They had to shave off ALL of her hair except for the hair on top of her head. She really looked funny for a while. Thank god thats over with! |
