My adopted yorkie/new member Hi, This is my first time posting. My husband and I just adopted a 5 year old yorkie from a breeder---I guess she was no longer a 'money maker'. We are proud and pleased to give our darling girl Sasha a 'forever' home and a mom and dad who lover her dearly. We have long wanted a yorkie, and she is our first. We have had her now 2 months, and she is 5 and a half pounds of pure cuteness and love! We have photos of her on our website HOME page, and hope all will visit us at Country Lady Antiques We are historical reenactors and present costumed programs on early Amercian life, etc. at schools, clubs, museums, etc. Someone just made Sasha her own little 18t century gown and cap, and she will be going to some of our school programs with us! We have a photo feature on our website we call the DUCHESS OF YORKIE!

Welcome to YT. Oh how precious she looks in her pilgram dress and matching bonnet. Thank you for giving her such a warm and loving home. Sounds like she just loves going back in time as well.

She is a cutie pattootee!! I'm still trying to figure out how to upload a photo of my little one. Being a mom of a 7yo female, "Kiwi", it has been so rewarding for me and husband. She has brought so much joy into our lives. We've had her since she was 8 wks old and raising her, disciplining and all the other parenting stuff was definitely worth it. She's our very first daughter we both raised. Both of us grew up with dogs but none like her. She is a tough, charming, pretty, smart and stubborn at times! Nevertheless, she is strong minded and full of life and we love her dearly. We are currently looking into adding another one to our family.

| Welcome! I love your web site. Very interesting. Your new yorkie girl is cute as a button and I'm very glad to see she has a nice, loving forever home. She looks adorable in all of her pics, especially in the historical dress - "The Duchess of Yorkie."

The breeder seems like a very sweet older woman, but Sasha was NOT treated as a pet, nor was she housebroken. She had a litter by C-section in October, and it was pricey, according to the breeder. Although we don't believe she would EVER mistreat her animals, she told us that Sasha was now up for adoption. We got Sasha in Jan. and are still working on the potty training. She is doing quite well, but it's not 100% yet. We DO NOT use a crate or pee pads, etc. Our home is OUR CRATE, and we are teaching her to ONLY go outdoors. The breeders puppies are $1500.---way out of our league, and she does make her living this way. We see a big change in Sasha since we got her. She seems to love us and her new home very much. If we could ONLY get this housebreaking licked! We HAVE to leave for a day at some point, and do NOT want to use a crate. I have had two miniature schnauzers before from puppies, and never had problems with them when they got trained. We are HOPING Sasha will 'get it' once and for all soon!
