| Have you checked if there are any Yorkie rescue groups near you or a Purbred rescue group. They will usually take in most Yorkies especially without health problems. Don't bring it to a shelter because they are overburdened right now.

| I am in Antioch CA maybe I can help? Do you need a permanent home? Or are you looking for someone to foster this one?

| Yorkie rescue groups are the best idea I agree...if not...a local (rural area, if possible) vet will usually foster (you can always make sure that a worker takes the pup home at night and does leave him/her caged all day)...where I live, we have no rescue groups, except for the humane society...so my vet, who is in a rural setting never turns away strays...they take them in, then of course, make sure they are healthy and take all measures to make them healthy, including vaccinations. spay or neuter...but then once they are healthy one of the people who work in the office foster the animal in home until they are apopted...I know some vets who operate in the city will also. Hope that helps, hope you are able to find the puppy a good foster family

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thanks so much for all the info. I have never lived in an area where people help animacls so much... I have taken in so many thru te years m husband said he thought the word was out and they were running away from home to come to our house. When I went to help with Katrina. I was Red Cross volunteer. While there found a young lab mix. 8-19 month old. They thought had been bitten by alligator. Policeman helped me take to vet. He is only one who helped take to vet. No car there. No aid of any kind. Paid close to $600 to amputate leg and ship to one of volunteers homes in CA. No one there wanted a 3 leg dog. She named him tripod. Had to wait to ship becuse of heart worm treatment. Was expensive volunteer job for only 3 weeks. But I couldn't say no to those eyes looking to me for help. My husband jokes no matter where I go they will find me. I hope others will do what your city is doing. aif so we would not have problems we have now. People think what a cute puppy or I will get another animal tokeep mine company. Then their life changes and the world has to take care of their resonsibilities. Love the pictures of yours .
