Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | 3-hour solution to matted hair! LOL, I'll bet every Yorkie owner on YT clicks on that headline. It broke our hearts, but Jillie's matting had just gotten so bad that her first trip to the groomers was a complete shearing. She was fine on her back, but starting at the sides she looked like she had dreadlocks. In addition to puppy hair being tough to manage, we made the mistake of bathing her the first couple times before making sure all the mats were out. I since learned that's a no no. And the groomer chewed me out for not brushing more, too. She did a pretty good job, but I was a little disappointed she trimmed the hair on the bridge of her nose. I guess I wasn't clear that I wanted the face left alone. Oh well, it'll grow back. The good news is the groomer said she did very well in the grooming. She even said she has a lot of confidence. That's my girl! So here she is, in the buff just as our Alaska winter sets in

| She'll definately have the spikey's on her nose while it grows out but I don't think there's any hair cut in the world that she wouldn't still be an absolute doll after. She is so darned cute!!! |

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | Jillie is Adorable as ever!! She's an active girl keeping up with the big boys! This just means Dad "a new wardrobe".....YAY!! My groomer is a friend who also like to do the shaving of the nose? Never understood why. So I always have to remind her. Also my daughter hates when she cuts her furbabies eyelashes!! & it's a boy....lol!! So glad to see Jillie's album. Love to see that pretty little girl & her adventures!!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I agree she's such a little doll, she'd look good in any cut. It seems like lots of people have to shave the first time, puppy hair sometimes falls out and mats are easily formed if not all loose hair is brushed out, and it's so true about making sure you remove all matting before the bath. Jilly's haircut isn't that much different than Joey's, except we keep the legs long. You definitely needs some hoodies and jackets though, Joey gets cold in Arizona!

| Jillie looks adorable in her new haircut. Don't worry it'll grow back quickly. Last winter we had Piper groomed like Jillie. Piper had to have hip surgery. She was shaved the whole right back quarter of her body. Then both front legs were shaved for IVS. Poor Piper looked like she was ran over by a lawn mower. Once the incision was healed we had her whole body shaved except for the head. Since it gets very cold and snowy in Connecticut during winter months, Piper always wore a sweater in the house and a coat outside. Jillie will look gorgeous in her new winter wardrobe.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Thanks, everybody. LOL, 11 comments so fast! I think my headline must have tricked some of you! It'll be interesting to see how light she'll be when it grows out. Looks like there's still at least some black left. She looks about half the size since the cut, and it really shows her body shape well. Completely opposite of Eddie. She's long and thin with long legs for her size. Amazing, really, when you think she's just a little better than 3 1/2 pounds. Oh, and luvfla, thanks for the picture comment. I have the original canon digital rebel. I must have gotten it 4-5 years ago, and it's held up real well. It's big and clunky, but I needed a camera with interchangeable lenses.

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | HaHa....Anyone else notice???? Many of us spoke of a new wardrobe for Jillie. Dad eluded to the notion of dressing that pretty little munchkin!! Mom will, I bet! Quote:

| She is a doll! What an excuse for power shopping! We're in the process of growing out the bridge on the nose---we're to the spikey and obnoxious stage! I'm trying to hang in there...but, quickly giving up! |
