Golden Yorkie Baby?? What a surprise in the wee hours of the morning.... brand new Yorkie baby boy - is GOLDEN!! Would love to know how common this is. I know it is a genetic defect / recessive gene trait / flaw / etc. - but it would be great to see some other photos if those of you who have had experience with these goldens - might be willing to share. Thanks much!

I wanted to add also, that the little golden boy's baby brother has the traditional Yorkie black / tan markings - - but he does have a white blaze across his chest.... does this signify that he may be a carrier? (and would he be a parti carrier or golden carrier?) Thanks for the tips!

Congradulations on the new editions! Love the coloring of your surprise edition. You might want to PM Sue (I believe her alias is Pinehaven) to ask her if she knows anyone who is familiar with Goldens...

| Hi and Congratulations! Your new boys color is not what the standards call for but he's no more of a genetic defect than a black and tan yorkie is. Goldens are just as healthy as traditional colored yorkies. Some lines of goldens do have little white blazes on their chests and head, and these pups are turning out to be parti carriers too. If you PM me, I'll give you some email addresses of breeders who specialize in golden yorkies. I'm getting my first golden in the next week or so, he's from a line that also have white markings and the breeder had her first parti pup born in the litter (same litter that my boy is from). Attached is a pic of my golden boy. Please keep us updated as your pups grow. We'd love to see photos too!

Golden puppies. Your puppy is very pretty if the nose turns blond or stays the color of the coat he will be a Golden Chocolate and if the nose turns black he will be a golden but Blond. I just had a litter of 5 on the 3rd. It's a recessive gene. Both parents have to carry for it. There are no health problems with this color at all.
