Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | No, no, I don't want to go Do your dorkies do this when they don't want to go somewhere on a leash? Even before I pull on the leash, he sets up all four legs in the "resist" stance. He knows he's not going to win, but he gives it his best.

| Gracie hates when we have to go inside...she will fight me but what they don't realize is all we have to do is pick their scrawny little bodies up

| Yep. When I first started with Sabrina, she did that too. The trick for her was to just follow HER. She'd back up, I'd back up, pretty soon she turned around and took me on a tour. Then i'd gently ease her the way I wanted her to go, and a few days later, wa-la - she was jumping up and ready to go when I got the leash! Keep at it - They just have to think they are the leader..... |

| I love all your pictures of Eddie. He's such a handsome boy. Mine do that when they want to stay outside and its time to come in. |

As for "Dorkies," I saw somebody else use that on this site and figured it was appropriate with this picture. Of course, as a copy editor by profession, I'd never admit it if I made a typo anyway!

| Oh, of course! That's a Yorkie trait! Yeah, Yoda knows when we are supposed to go, and if he doesn't wanna, well, he'll pose just like Eddie and look at us the same exact way! What's up with that? |

| Maddie and Rudy love to go for walks, but my first yorke "Max never would walk on a leash, he would sit and not move, I tried everthing. Had him for 17 years and he never walked on a leash. He was very well behaved in every other way. He wouldn't step out of the yard, even if a dog was walking by.

| Yes I have Kali and Mare on double leash and Kali pulls Mare half way down the road because Mare hates to walk. She sits like that and tries to pull Kali back half the time. It looks so funny!

| That's exactly what Cruz does when it's time for a walk. He doesn't like going outside. When I put a leash on him he knows we're leaving and he fights me by pulling on the leash. He's fine when we're out, but to get him out there is so funny. |

| He is such a cute little fella! Yep! Mine have always done that. A funny thing Kacee does. When we are walking in the grass, we are moving right along at a brisk pace. Suddenly and without warning I will feel resistance on the leash and I'll stop and look at her and she will be a froggy doggy flat on the grass with her hind legs straight out behind her! She does that when she comes across something she wants to stop and check out if I am not paying attention.
