My new Hungarian baby is finally here! Well, finally the date arrived - Friday - and I got to pick up my new baby from Hungary. She is just pure gorgeous. She has a great topline and a silky coat and what a sweet face. Her earset is fantastic, even my vet noticed that. She checked out great at the vets - very sound, but needs to remove her canine baby teeth. But has a great bite. We just don;t eant the baby teeth that are still hanging in there to ruin that bite, since her adult canine teeth are in. So we are doing that on next Friday. We wanted to give her time to get use to her new surroundings. I will take some pictures later today and share. Her baby picture is here next to my post name. She is six months old now. I am just so happy. And she is so sweet - I call her my shadow because everywhere I go she follows me. She even cries when I have to go outside the house. And she loves to lay next to me on the sofa - such a sweetie! Now I have to figure out how to get her registered with AKC using her Export Pedigree and other information. It looks a little difficult. I will try to call AKC tomorrow and try to get their help too. Has anyone here imported a yorkie and then got their AKC registration? Any suggestions? T. P.S. She even got to see France before me with her having to change planes there. Last edited by topknot; 08-07-2005 at 05:25 AM.

| Congratulations on your new baby! I love the name Shadow, so fitting! I would think AKC can help walk you through the process of getting her registered.

I have no idea on how to help you with the AKC registration. I have never imported a dog. Good luck with that and let us know about the process. I hope that is is not too difficult. Congratulations on your Shadow and look forward to seeing pictures.

Wow Great news...AKC is fairly simply. I had to take photo's front and back, pedigree and any papers they gave you, $50 and that was it. I would call and check to see if things have changed. Good Luck

Thank you all. And thank you Pat. I thought that was all, but thought I would make sure. I have printed out the Foreign Dog Registration Application and have just about filled it out. I just need to take the photos today. She has already been microchipped and have number and papers for that. Her pedigree is fantastic! She has 22 champions in 4 generations with one marked CAC in her 2nd generation - her grandmother. I know you can't judge a dog by their pedigree, but it is a good start. She is also linebred back to AM/Int.CH./NL CH. Colombia CH. Parkside Okie Dokie (in 3rd (sire's side) and 4th (dam's side) generation). We will attend confirmation classes on Monday nights. My son is planning to attend classes with me. Nice family activity. He is 20. He wants to help show, so this will be a great start and gets us family to do something together. Who knows maybe he will really take to this like a duck to water. HaHa. After breakfast I will take and post photos! Good idea on the name Shadow and thank you. Her name is "I'm A Lady" aka Easy, but we are calling her LuLu (got from Lady). My son and daughter did not like the name Easy. Oh Well. My son asked a great question. If she came from Hungary, does she know and understand what we are saying to her in English? T.

Here are some pictures of her. Sorry had to paint the background of the side view, since we were still in our p.j. She was not in a great mood for pictures either, but that is understandable being in new surroundings - she has only been here for one full day. Let me what you think. Thanks. T.
