| How Did it Happen For You??? I remember the first time I saw the adorable little Yorkie Face.. and I was completely hooked!! They were so expensive and I wasnt sure if I would ever be able to afford such a sweet bundle of love.. but I kept looking, kept researching, kept calling Breeders and asking as many questions as I could without harassesing them to death..I put their sweetfaces on my fridge and on my desk top.. Then......... 2 years later I was finally able to look.. I had a chance at another small breed but my heart was stuck on the Adorable Yorkie and I would not settle for anything but... So I found a wonderful Breeder and we brought home our Elegant Ellie Mae after having to wait 4 more (seemingly endless )weeks for her to grow up enough to come home.. I will never forget that day.. I cried and cried.. I couldnt and still cant believe I am sooo blessed to now not only have one Darling Yorkie but 3... I would just love to know how you all came to know and love this incredible Breed... |

| I have wanted a yorkie since I was 12 and now I am almost 30. I actually found Preslee through a member here. My great gramma in England had 5 yorkies and I can remember going over there to visit with my grandparents and thinking that they were the cutest dogs ever. I thought it was so cool how she used to do thier hair and stuff like that. |

| I've always thought Yorkies were super cute. My grandmother has a Yorkie mix (I think maybe he's mixed with a silky) and he is so sweet but he was big so I for some reason assumed that all Yorkies were bigger dogs so I didn't consider them when I was looking for my first dog. After having Tuffy for a year both my husband and I wanted to get a 2nd dog for Tuffy to play with. I saw the most precious little Yorkie at Petsmart.. she was a perfect specimen of the breed and I just knew my 2nd dog had to be a Yorkie. After reading on forums and hearing stories of people with Yorkies I was smitten. With the help of luvmypupster, I finally found a great breeder after tons and tons of phone calls and e-mails and then a few weeks later had my cutie girl!

| a friend of mine breeds and i babysat several of his dogs he was planning to breed (when they were puppies)....... it was a trial basis becaause my dog died and i had NEVER not had a dog before, lol..... so i borrowed one, anyways, i figured that i was not allergic to them (a plus...... but now it defeats the whole purpose because now we have a cat ) and they were small (good for apartment living) and they were cuddlebugs, adn they were so darn cute ............ i researched for a few months, and then found toby for $500......... Oh, and congrats to my friend, he just had a litter of yorkies (there are two baby girls i know for sure........ the rest are boys, but i dont know how many there were......lol) |

| just love to know how you all came to know and love this incredible Breed...[/QUOTE] My darling peke Muffy died at 13 and for 2 years I couldn't look at a puppy without crying. Then one night I got home from work and my mother demanded that I come over, get in her car and take her to another town. THis was highly unusual - it was dark - she didn't want my dad to take her - she told me she didn't have time for me to eat/drink etc. We got there and she told me not to go in the restarant, just wait in parking lot - someone knocked on the window of the car and nearly scared me to death - she let them in (!) and they handed her a 8 week old Yorke she named Princess Di. I started spending so much time over there playing with Princess she told me that Princess was her's and to "go get your own, and have some fun like me". And I did. I called her breeder, and 2 months later - I got Sabrina, who is practically my hearbeat. |

| Completely by accident Both my babies are rescues and I knew nothing of the breed! I have never had a dog before so this has been quite the experience! I wouldn't trade it for the world! And yes, I would LOVE to have another yorkie |

| I was 15 and my best friends grandma had gotten a yorkie puppy and I fell in love. So I started saving my babysitting money and my dad took me to a breeder and I bought my first yorkie. That was 15 yrs ago and not nearly as expensive, I only paid $350 for her. When she passed away 13 yrs later I was so torn and refused to ever buy another dog. 1 yr after her death I started looking at websites and the local paper(still not buying), then for Valentines day my super cute and amazing husband brought home Lexi(total suprise I had no clue). He knew I wanted another, all I talked about was "IF I get another I want HER to be show quality", and "hmm, I think I would love to show Yorkies". Suttle hints ,but really it was a suprise, he told me had a meeting and he would only be gone a few hours. He drove 2 hrs to get her and then 2 hrs home to get the perfect SHOW pup(then I later decided not to show ). Anyway, I totally melted when he brought Lexi in the front door and all I could do was cry. It was the sweetest thing. I later found out he called our vet to find a woman close to us that shows yorkies. He really did alot of research before chosing Lexi and accually meet more than 7 breeders before making a purchase. OK I know, enough now, I just never get tired of telling people how sweet and wonderful he is..

| When we were kids we had poodles, cocker spaniel and pomeranian. I never seen a Yorkie until I met my sister's dog. We all fell in love with him and after that we all wanted a yorkie. I was so happy when last year we had the chance to get a Yorkie. We love Gucci so much. |

| I always thought yorkies were twisted, yapping, inbred, stupid looking muts. I wanted a german shepard. (sp?) But my husband said "If I am ever to have a dog, it should be a yorkie", so I started reading about them on the net and really fell for their personality, they sounded like a real clever and selfconsious dog. So we visited a kennel and saw some pups - and I was butter in the jar...hehe...those tiny creatures were just so cute and Kalis mom was so friendly and non-smelly. There was nothing I could do, I had seen the light and I am proud to say that I love yorkies People say poodles are clever, but what the heck is clever about being willing to do whatever to please the owner? No, mam, let me have a yorkie who will do anything....if she wants to...that's clever in my book

| The first time I fell in love with the wonderful Yorkie breed was at a dogshow . I just decided to take a little break , so I went to see at the toy breed ring and I saw Ch Shakespeare Double Delight . I really loved her proud attitude . A month later , I received my first Yorkie as a gift . Her name was Maļa , all her life she looked like an Australian Terrier ( she was black and gold and never grew a coat like the splendid Yorkie , I saw earlier but I always loved her , she received the best of cares and attention ) . Few years later ,I purchased Zsa Zsa ( who died recently ) . Actually , I have 2 young rescued little girls , Jade and Choulita . |

| I have always loved the Pemerianian. But after owning one we found that they are just not the dog for us. I was watching Bad Boys and seen 2 gorgeous yorkies. After seeing that movie I was on a mission to learn all I can about the breed. I know I was going to own one someday. Then we seen how much the were going for,,,,,, and that ended that. I didnt back down. I really really really wanted one very badly. I called around and talked to local breeders just to ask questions,,, and met Dawn,,,,,, a wonderful sweet woman who was willing to answer all my question. She had no puppies at the time but she invited me to meet her babies. 7 beautiful yorkies. All so different with their own peronalities and all so sweet. I was more determined after that. I got Tim to go see Dawns babies,,,, and that was the end of it. And when we were more stable with our house, kids and money, he had to cave. He said ok you can start looking,,,,, I really wanted a red yorkie and wasnt going stop my search till I got my red one. But then I found a wonderful lady by the name of Kathy of YorkiePals,,, she told me that she didn't have any red yorkies but she did have 3 different litters that were born on the 2, 3 and 4th of April. A total of 10 puppies and they were ready to go. I thought,,, ok I will take a look,,,,, I knew I wanted a girl, red, and one that was going to be small and not too tiny because of my kids still being kinda young. And there he was,,,, not red, a boy, and a tiny little chunkie thing. My heart just melted and I fell in love. Came home with a Gus Gus and not Laloni,,,,,,,, But couldn't be more happier. Still want my red female yorkie but am so satisfied with my Gus. Not really looking for one at this moment, but if I so happen to come across one say tomorrow,,,,,, well Gus would have a new sister.

| I hve always been a dog lover and grew up with miniature poodles and shepherds. I have had infatuations with different breeds for my entire life. I used to write stories about Irish Setters and White West Highland Terriers when I was a kid. I had an aunt in Florida who owned Yorkies and I always loved hers. I knewq they were a fragile breed and I decided to wait until my four children were older before adopting one. After moving to San Diego five years ago I finally got my Westie, and my Standard Poodle! I also talked several of my friends into buying Yorkies and I got to play with them. This past Christmas my oldest daughter asked for a Yorkie to keep her company in Santa Barbara. When I went to the breeders house I fell in love with two little boys, and i brought them both home. Hefner and Buddha are just what we wanted. When my middle daughter decided she wanted a Yorkie too, we began our search for a female. We found princess Chai from a breeder in Texas, and she came home on Easter weekend! I have learned a lot about these Yorkies in the 8 months that I have owned one and I realize that I am obsessed with the breed. I couldn't stop looking at Yorkie puppies on the internet and I began searching for my "Dream puppy". We have had Ava now for 2 weeks tomorrow and she is a dream. WE ARE ALL HAVING SUCH FUN! |
