| Adult Coat - WHEN? I have to say, I'm addicted to this site! I may not post a lot, but I read almost EVERYTHING! I'm learning so much! So, my Sophie is 15 weeks old and starting to get a lot of silver on her head. I'm excited to see what color she'll end up. When would you say they get their adult coat? When you know for sure what color they will be and what coat type they'll have? I've seen a few beautiful blue and tan photos, but not many so I'm wondering if the blue is rarer than the black.

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | It's different for every pup, but a good range is anywhere form 6 months old to 2 years old. I have three puppies right now (and 2 adults) 2 of the three puppies have their adult coloring already (at 6 months old) but the other puppy (who happens to be smaller) is 8 months old, and her back is still puppy black, while the others are full silver/gray already.

| It takes a while to get to the adult coat...I think they keep changing until around 18 mo? I look back at our pics and see big changes. Our experts can probably weigh in here. I think all yorkies are adorable...no matter their coat!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My Pixie was pitch black until she was a little over 2 years old now she is getting a lot of silver on her back, Cali is 3 and is still pitch black, Roxie is almost 8 months old and black she is just starting to clear some more black from her head and face. So it is really hard to say when they get their adult coat.
