| My yorkie is black with tan on his face. You can see his picture under topic "Newbi" Around here the silver ones are hard to find, and the tan and blacks are easy.

I used to take them to the groomers when they were young for about a year just to 'clean' up their faces. Since no topnots, they would shave down the center of their noses and sorta going up into their eyebrows, so I guess by doing this when they were young for a good period of time, their hair got trained to go that way (I think) - if this isn't the case, then I have know idea, but both of the hair seems to lay flat and back, Roxy's hair does it better. TJ has very thick and fine hair and he has lots of body in it, 1 day after a bath and he shakes his head out to look like a lion (hehehehehe) | |

| I was told the black and tans are called Mahogany. Has anyone else heard that? I wonder what the genetics of the color are? This is a picture of one of the pups from my litter. I believe about half of them will likely stay black and tan rather than turning silver. The maternal grandma is black and tan but the mother and father are silver. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...puppyFlyer.jpg |
