| My Dorkie Wednesday This has been the first chance that I have had to get on. Being a new puppy mommy is exhausting. Wennie has been getting up every night at about 2-230 and wanting to play. She also tends to eat and drink at this time, and go to the potty. So I tend to be up for close to an hour. In an earlier thread I posted concerns about what everyone has told me is normal puppy behavior. The only thing that still concerns me is that she shivers in her sleep, using right when she is falling to. I try to wrap her blanket around her to keep her warm. This does go away. But I'm still going to ask her vet at her appt. on Thurs. Other than that she is a vivacious often ornery puppy you in just these few days I couldn't imagine life without. She is eating and drinking good. She is a nibbler, just a little bit at a time. Sometimes just pulling one tiny piece of kibble out of her bowl. She uses her pee pad most of the time, sometimes off shooting and she tries to get the hang of #2 but more often than not I catch her away from the pad looking guilty. I always tell her better luck next time and praise her highly when she gets it right. When she is up and playing she is a bundle of energy, often chasing after her 15 lbs each feline brothers. They have been so patient and wonderful with her and there has only been one hiss and that was over a very fluffy tail. At times they even play with her and let her chase them until her heart is content. She loves playing with all of her toys. She tires after about an hour and tends to curl up on my feet to fall asleep. She was supposed to be a full blooded yorkie but I can't imagine her any different than the way she is. The dacshund in her seems to suit her Her ears are trying to stand up and she is getting a long hair here and there. Her temperment is so wonderful, she loving and cuddly and next to my girls and my hubby she is quickly becoming one of my greatest joys in life. Check out my album for the pictures of Wennie finally at home.

| I love the one of her with her baby! So cute! Those sleepless nights will come to end but I remember how endless they can seem.

| oh hon, the puppy stages do end.. their bladder takes time to grow.. just like a skin baby.. I try to tire them out so bad and keep them awake at night as long and late as i can.. then they are only too darn happy to be in their bed..when they start wanting to sleep to early in the evening.. go for a walk.. buy some clothing.. maybe some pj's.. des has great one piece and she is so helpful..and she will snuggle right in and be warm at night.. she has not go a lot of hair to keep her warm and cuddly..... hope this helps.. what an adorable baby....anne |

| What a cutie!! Good luck with the 2am wake up calls, I was there a few months ago. It does get better. Where does she sleep? For Abbey she would cry all night when I would make her sleep in her bed in the bathroom but once I got her a kennel she would sleep through the night. I would just put her in and she would cry for a bit and I would tap on the top of the kennel and say "NO, SLEEP!!" she would quiet down immediately and go to sleep.
