| Silky Coat or Cottony Coat My puppy Zoe has just turned 5 months old. I know she still has her puppy coat and it will be fluffy but at 5 months can I tell if she will mature into a silky coat or a cottony coat? Her coat lies flat mostly but has some waves in it and her rear is wavey. She has a silver top knot and her back is turning steel blue/silvery. Any replys will be greatly appreciated, Heather |

| Oh she's a doll! Take a look at the hair on her feet. Is it straight and lying flat against the foot? Does the hair at the roots on her back reflect the light? Is it cool to the touch? The hair on the feet will tell the story first.

| Zoe Thanks!! Yes the hair on her feet lay flat against her feet and the hair on her back at the roots does reflect the light. I will get back to you about the warm part because she is snuggled up taking a nap...lol. Also quick question, I live in Grand Cayman and will be moving to the US this year and I would like to show her. She is imported from Ireland because of the Laws here in the Cayman Islands prevent anyone from importing a dog that is less than 10 months from the US and any other country that isnt rabies free. Would she be faulted in a show ring if she had a cotton coat? |
